just back yesterday and while at disney i overcame my fears (i'm a huge ride chicken) and went on the tot!! it was sooo scarey!! i screamed my head off! :scared1: i don't think i could ever ride it again! anyone else been terrified on this ride?

CONGRATS!!!!:thumbsup2 Did it make you queasy? I really want to try it next time we go but am chicken also! I can handle being scared....but I don't want to be sick all day!

I was TERRIFIED to ride it (thus, the Terror) I shook the whole way walking there, while we were on it, and for about 20 minutes afterwards..but I liked it and I'll do it once every trip!

I cried (shh, don't tell anyone) the first time on that ride I was so scared. It now has become one of my favorites!! :woohoo:

thanks! i was very worried about being queasy also but there is no room for queasiness the terror factor overides it! :) if you don't mind being scared, do go on it for disney really does a great job with the theming and atmosphere of the ride. you won't be sick...promise. :thumbsup2 but you will be scared!!

I generally don't prefer "dropping" rides (like Free Fall they used to have at GA), but I LOVE ToT! Can't get enough of it! :)

won't tell if you won't tell i got off and hit dh (a wack on the arm!) who told me it wasn't very scarey then laughed at me for screaming like a lunatic. i then had the last laugh as i promptly marched into the tot gift shop at bought a tee shirt. (he says i buy way too much..but i earned this tee shirt :) )

this ride scares me to death!! but - it is my favorite ride!! - my 5 year old daughter screams less on it then i do!!

I am a card carrying thrill ride chicken! DW finally convinced me to ride ToT a few years ago and i actually enjoyed it. I am not saying that I have a big desire to ride it every trip, but once I am on it, I love it!

Still no RNRC, EE, Space Mountain and rarely Splash. I do have to overcome these crazy fears though.

Not personally, but I've had some terrified people with me in the "elevator" before.

One poor woman on the front row was strangely quiet throughout the ride. When the doors opened at the end revealing the cast member who was going to help us exit, the woman suddenly let out a bloodcurdling scream right in the cast members face. :rotfl: It's the only time I've seen a TOT CM look startled.

we love this ride cant get enuff of it........ but on are last trip there was a lil girl 6 or 7 with her dad saying dad i dont want to go plzz dont make me i have to go to the bathroom..... the CM was really nice even said something like Sr she can stand here with me so u can go on. the Dad said she was fine. the lil girl cried the whole time and she wet her pants.it was just about the saddest thing i had seen all trip. i couldnt get back on to ride again that trip:sad1: makes ya ask what was he thinking?:confused3

All you can see in the picture is the red streaks in myhair as my head is buried in my BFs shoulder. I've done this ride twice, and both times have a mini panic attack once the doors close and I realize I can't get out.

I'm fine on every other ride, but this one causes me to shake and freak out. The only good part of the ride was the LOST merchandise in the shop after the ride!!

I have to say, I avoid this ride myself. I'm not one for being dropped. (I guess that is because I was dropped as a child...). I have been on it before and I LOVE the themeing and the attention to detail that Disney does. I especially LOVE the music in the courtyard while you're waiting. But I do have a funny story about the last time I went down there. My mother-in-law forgot to securely stow away her water bottle. As you were dropping all you saw was this water bottle bouncing around on everyone's head! The whole time she was saying, "sorry! oops that's mine!" I would go on again just to see that!

For me it was a little scary but it was over before I had much time to get real scared. I'm not a ride chicken but I'm a scared chicken. I don't like being scared. I hate scary movies and stuff like that to me the pre-ride video was more scary when you think of it than the actual ride was.

I rode it in November...mainly because I didn't want my 9 and 7 year old sons to laugh at me if I didn't...:rotfl2: I love the twilight zone so I wanted to see the ride but I am not sure of what I saw since my eyes were closed the whole time...;)

Just out of curiousity:

For those who are frightened of TOT, did the little trip to the "drop area" (there's one stop on the way up, then a section where you're brought forward towards the front of the building) make you more or less nervous?

And for those of you that closed your eyes, did you have your eyes closed through this as well?

My name for that ride Tower of TORTURE!!! I really feel like I could vomit during all the dropping. But I have to go on it bc my little, bitty DD4 loves it, and I cannot in good conscience let her on it without me. Even though my DH is with her, I need to know she's next to me and safe.

I loved the theming and move towards the drop. My eyes closed when they jerked the elevator before starting up for the first time. Of course, now there is no set number of drops so I never knew when it would end. The first time I went on was when they only dropped twice.
