We were trying to figure out tonight how many elevators, as opposed to how many elevator shafts, are actually in the TOT? Are there 4 or 6 elevators in the basement? And do they funnel into only 2 shafts for the drops? Anyone know?

There are only 2 "drop shafts", there are 4 elevators for the first part of the ride, 2 on each side that merge. I think even the drop shafts alternate, when watching it from outside I've never seen both being used at the same time.

And there are 4 drop sequences. We experienced at least 3 of the drop sequences last Tuesday (we went on it 5 times). My 4yo liked the ride and probably would have gone more times if we didn't have to go through the preshow. He loved the dropping!
