Definately lots of hydration needs to be going on.

From what I know, the other races at WDW(other than Marathon weekend), don't offer rides back to WDW resorts. With no final instructions, I hope this changes as if you don't get your packet until Sat, you won't have much time to make other plans

Plan on picking up my packet on Friday so that will help. Need to get some taxi numbers then.

Funny this thread has turned to tattoos - I have been thinking about getting my second one. (I have a butterfly on my back I got when I was much younger.) I want a small Mickey so badly on my ankle, but I've been a chicken!

DH has three tattoos - Jiminy Cricket, Mickey and a heart with our girls' names on it.

Transportation is not provided for this race.
You can either rent a car, get a cab, or if you are staying in the Boardwalk Resort area, you can walk.

You can get a ride to DTD from all resorts. I believe you can get a bus to DTD and than one to Boardwalk and walk from there to the race. You can do that in reverse to get back to your room.

According to my widget, 1 day 22 hours and 50 minutes until we depart; not that I'm anxious or anything ...

I have no tatoos or identifying marks. I do have the lime green metal "WISH" tag on my park bag.

We need a WISH sign -- like holding up three fingers (peace sign plus ring finger) to make a "W".

I seem to recall you saying you had made arrangements for your packet pick up, please say yes. I've added you to my pre-travel worries LMBO I saw the paragraph about absentee racers making arrangements and you keep popping up in my head.

Ok I thought I was doing fairly well with travel worries this trip but apparently not and since i managed to be packed last night I've add you to my list. Check one off (packing) add another (Bill) LMBO

We leave tomorrow morning and will be watching for team mates at the Expo on Friday at 3 pm. I'll be the one mowing down everyone in my way towards the merchandise Hurry hurry Judy and Jen!!! It will be our own little mini race LOL

When I saw the post by Goofyinohio, I called the front desk at OKW, they said there was going to be transportation, go Figure,
Shocked two different stories from Disney.... who woulda thunk.

It is HOT!!!!! Here.

Found a way to make a weight vest for running, simply wear a cotton shirt for your morning run, it will be soaked with 2000 pounds of sweat in about 50 yards.

My 3.5 miles this morn were the fastest ever for me, scary.

MNSSHP last night was fun, very heavy rain about 11:30ish, we were in the HM and came out to a down pour of Biblical Proportions, glad we had our bumbershoots.

One Nephew and BIL arrive tomorrow with a band group. So we will be at AK Thursday, MGM Friday, and MK in the morn on Sat, before the golf event.

I just talked to BW front desk and they said last bus from BW is at 1:30am. She warned me that she would be outside here by 1:00am since they run only every 20 min.

Best bet is taxi(if they have that many )

Diane-thanks so much for your concern. I really appreciate how this team looks after one another, eventhough many have never met and I am in no condition to really be doing this any way. But, you only live once, right?

I am all set with packet pick-up as Disney Sports has already replied to my e-mail inquiry. Still looking for a personal, executive shopper though.

My flight leaves in 77 hours. Time to kick up the training (or at least the hydration from the posts about the weather down there). Hope I can acclimate to temps and humidity in the 3 hours I'll have in Orlano (barring flight delays) before the event. Guess I better ask the driver from the airport to turn off the AC.

I'm looking forward to meeting my cyber team mates. OK, back to the salt mine, I mean piles of paper.

5 hours and 13 mins.....but whos counting.....boy this day is going slow. Figures....usually I am pretty busy at work, but today it is so slow which is making me watch the clock.!!!!!

Safe journey to all, just in case I don't get a chance to check in again today!!! Can't wait to see old friends and meet new ones at the various events over the weekend.

Hi Kim- per the Final Instructions, they will have race merchandise at MGM "while supplies last." Being a "two & a half real men" sized, not sure how much on the clothing they might have to start with. In reality, I don't really need anything else (will get a shirt as part of the packet, pre-ordered a couple pins and intend to earn a medal) and I am trying to keep this trip on the cheap-side as it is just me without the family and I still have marathon weekend.

Have a safe trip and I hope to meet you, and other WISHers, somewhere during my whirlwind 2 day WDW tour.
