Has anyone been on the TOT in the last week or so? Supposedly there are some changes to make it even better. Anyone notice any? My mom and I are going back the first week of February, and we are just wondering what we might have to look forward to. Of course it will still be the most amazing ride even if the changes are minor.

They started up the changes about 3 weeks now. They have 5 different drop sequences that are random. You don't know which sequence you are having until you are on it. Four of the sequences are totally new and the 5th is the old one. One of the sequences has a 13 story drop back and another one has a suprise ending. They have added additional figures and holographs in the drop chute and they also have sell-o-sizers in there also. The only 2 that I haven't hit yet is the suprise and the 13 story drop.

We rode it on 1/1 and thought it felt spongy, without the dramatic lifts and drops that previously characterized the ride. I didn't like it nearly as much.

Yes, what is a sell-o-sizer?

I would also like more details about the various scenarios. When it was only 3 drops (short, long, long) I could tolerate TOT pretty well although I hated the drops (love the special effects). But when they changed it to 5 drops, it was too much like riding a yo-yo, and it actually made me nauseated. Since you can't predict which scenario you'll have when you ride it now, I was wondering whether the multidrop scenarios are also like riding yo-yos. I'll have to ride it at least once when I'm there in March, but I want to be prepared!

Sorry smell-o-sizer or what ever disney calls it. It is their smell machines that they have in different attractions. I can't find it right now but I am going to keep looking for a sheet that had the sequence of the 5 drop sequences. I've seen it posted on a website but can't remember where I saw it.

We rode it 3 times Christmas week and really liked the changes.

All 3 rides were different. Different scenes during the drop and different drop sequences.

Thanks for the info everyone. Has anyone smelled anything on it yet? I really like it when they include the sense of smell. I miss that orange scented part of Horizons at Epcot. I also appreciate the burning smell in Spaceship Earth. I just wonder what they'd make smell in TOT. It could smell like a skunk for all I care - I love that ride. I can't wait until February 1st!!

I didn't notice a smell, but the new effects and drop profiles are lightyears better than the previous versions.

It used to feel almost like two different rides - Excellently themed dark ride, followed by a mediocre, repetitive and virtually unthemed thrill element.

Now the two parts blend together much better, producing a much more coherent ride experience.

It is only on a certain program. It has an electrical and rubber burning smell to it.

I went on it with th 5 drop sequence! It was terrific and I used to like the original ride better! Okay...let me explain...

1st it was like the regular old ride at first..You dropped a little...take a picture and then drop all the way down! Then it was back up halfway and some holographs came at you and then a drop in the dark and then up all the way again and the doors open and you hang there for a little bit and then down again and then half way up and some more holagrams and the music is COOL and then you stop and bright lights come on and a hugh Blast of Air is blown at you and then down. Anyway you get a LOT of AIR time! You literally hang in the air!!!!

It is not like a yo-yo at all! Much more fun! I take dramamine before these rides and everything was fine. I liked this new sequence much, much better!

I haven't been on the Disney Boards in a while, but I love WDW!! Anyway... This new TOT things sounds awesome, but I'm just curious about the Smell-O-Meter thing, like is it a real strong scent or what???

Anyone else with information about the changes? Anyone who has ridden it multiple times in a day or a week and has a feel as to how often the effects change (I mean, if you rode 5 times in a row, did you get the five different scenarios, or did you get a repeat or two)?

Well, we rode it 2 times in a row on Jan. 2 and had 2 different drop sequences. One of them seemed to have the full drop, while the other didn't. We found ourselves laughing and screaming at the same time from all the ups and downs. We didn't smell anything unusual though. It's a great ride!! :jester:
