Tower of Terror 13K & 6.5K Race Website Link

Oh I am terrible, aren't I?!?! :lmao:

Nothing yet, I see. I'm just back from my L/R, not even changed out of my PIs yet, but I HAD to check. Geez. I'm pathetic. Maybe you should tie me up and throw me in the hay wagon! ;)

Yes you are, we will have to have you spanked, get your hubby on the computer we want to talk to him.

Dave:)

Are they going to make us wait until July 22nd for registration to open up - the date of the opening of the ride in 1994 was July 22nd. Don't they realize there are a bunch of zealots here.

I don't think this group could wait that long.

I still think they might be waiting for the Minnie Expo since it is only 3 weeks away and would be a great chance to push it:confused3

Maybe we can even see the medals:cool1:

Despite my Judy-induced injury from yesterday, I was able to complete 7 miles today for my LR. That's just a little less than for the 13K!

Here is another new event going on the weekend of ToT. Some of you might find this interesting.

ABA Announces Multi-Year Agreement With Disney’s Wide World of Sports ®

The ABA and Disney’s Wide World of Sports to Hold BMX Nationals and Cup Races

Gilbert, Arizona —April 5, 2007 — The American Bicycle Association (ABA) has signed a multi-year agreement with Disney Sports Attractions to host National bicycle motocross (BMX) race events. The events will be held at Disney’s Wide World of Sports® complex in Lake Buena Vista , Florida . The first event, the Fall Nationals will be held October 25-28, 2007 and is just the first of several events planned for the Disney Sports complex.

The ABA has structured the Disney events as family adventures, allowing BMX racers and their families to enjoy the Walt Disney World® Resort and race an ABA National event. Disney’s Wide World of Sports® complex will provide an unique location that has never before been experienced in the sport of BMX. The 220-acre sports complex host over 180 professional and amateur sporting events each year. The variety of events include major league baseball, tennis, marathons, soccer and even paintball. The sport of BMX is one of the very first “Action Sports” to host a national level event at this site.

“The ABA is excited to partner with Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex. BMX has continued to grow and offering events that are destination driven are a natural progression. Our members will see the ABA continue to work with Disney over the coming years to provide magical races in Florida !”, said Clayton John, President of the ABA .

The Walt Disney World® Resort will offer special travel packages for the racers and their families during the week of the Disney Wide World of Sports ABA Fall Nationals. In addition to racing, the ABA will offer special Pro Clinics and other special events that will make this a must attend Disney vacation. Specially priced travel packages are being offered and you can read more information at www.ababmx.com .

"BMX racing is one of the hottest emerging sports in America , making this ABA event a perfect fit among the growing list of nationally-recognized sports events taking place at Disney`s Wide World of Sports Complex. Bringing this action sports event to our complex represents another step in our commitment to broaden the variety of prestigious sports events we`re able to offer athletes and guests.”, stated Kellen Winslow, Director of New Business for Disney’s Wide World of Sports®.

I'm so sorry I won't get to join everyone for this fantastic race! That is the one and only Panthers home game in the month of October and I was prepared to miss it.:scared1: But...that is the game my company picked for our customer event and I HAVE to be there since it was all my bright idea! That'll teach me!

Someone call Steve L and tell him there is an unruley mob headed for his house. They are carrying pitch forks and torches. Why do they have Honiebee tied up in the back of the wagon? The last we saw Steve he was slinking out to hide in the woods.

Dave:hippie:

:rotfl2: To keep it in the DIsney spirit,

Light your torch
Mount your horse
[Gaston:] Screw your courage to the sticking place
[Mob:] We're counting on Gaston to lead the way
Through a mist
Through a wood
Where within a haunted castle
Something's lurking that you don't see ev'ry day
It's a beast
One as tall as a mountain
We won't rest
'Til he's good and deceased
Sally forth
Tally ho
Grab your sword
Grab your bow
Praise the Lord and here we go :p

Seeing the mdals at MInnie would be cool, but will they *really* make us wait that long????????

Knowing Disney as I do, they will want our hard-earned $$$ a.s.a.p.! ;)

lol. Not still bitter about the Minnie discount are we? ;) (Yes? I am too. Really sticks it to the loyal Disney runners. :( )

No good deed goes unpunished! I learned never to organize work related activities when I almost drowned during a white water rafting trip! Sorry you'll miss the race.

What was the Minnie discount?

What was the Minnie discount?

Use priority code: "MinnieLFL" when registering, and you will automatically receive a $5.00 discount off Disney's Women Run the 15K.

I guess they are hoping that with a $5 discount more people will sign up. Too bad for those of us that already did though!

Gee, that is depressing to get a discount code afterward.:sad2:

Did anyone see the site has changed? It now has the word 'Apply' in the box beside the ToT run instead of 'Event Info'. Wonder if that is a sign that they're working on it? I got all excited again for nothing.

:rolleyes1 Don't look now, but I see a register button....

Wow! I must have just missed it but I registered!

I just got a 20 digit confirmation number, plus the e-mail confirming my registration.

I'll see you all in the starting corrals on Saturday, October 27.

Craig

Wow, we are oficially registered for our very 1st marathon. I'm a little nervous, but I think we'll do well. We dicided to do the 6.5K since DD is going to do it with us. I hope she'll be alright. See you all there.

I've made 3 attempts to register and each time upon clicking the "continue" button, I get a message that my cart is empty and to please search for another event?
