Most of the year is brutal in south Louisiana, but I guess the temps in the high 90s or the triple digits with high humidity where just walking from your door to your vehicle leaves you soaking wet has one advantage, being ready for the ToT in October in Florida!!

Yep, you'll be well acclimated! I'm on the Gulf Coast of FL, where the hot Gulf keeps things insanely humid longer than the rest of FL and my biggest issue with TOT has been that I'm just
wiped out form all of the hot, humid running by the time TOT comes around. I'm going to force myself to put in some AC'd treadmill training runs regularly this time around, just to break up the constant physical abuse of running in the heat.
Since we are all close to our 180-day mark to book ADRs for our trips, what is your pre-race eating strategy? Will you eat an early dinner and then maybe a little pre-race snack? What makes for a good pre-race dinner? I don't want to mess up and eat too much or too little
. Any advice would be helpful as I try to figure out where/when to make my ADRs.
That's a great question, I would also like some advice, I was thinking what people eat while at Disney pre and post races
I know it's not a very specific answer, but the best thing you can do is follow what you've tried and found success with in training! NOTHING NEW ON RACE DAY is my mantra.
I like a good-sized dinner before night runs, but I also have blood sugar issues and need more fuel than the average person.
Generally speaking, you want to avoid anything too heavy, with too much fat, too much fiber, as they take longer to digest and can end up sitting like a rock in your stomach at best, or causing GI issues at worst. My advice is to start trying things out in training and stick with whatever works best.
Speaking of GU, does anyone know if there will be a GU stop in the 10 miler?
Don't quote me on it, as I've always brought my own fuel and didn't pay attention, but I don't think there's a food stop on the TOT course.
This question is for anyone who has ran in a RunDisney event, on the site they discourage using earbuds/music due to audio cues throughout the race, has anyone still used them in some way shape or form?
LOTS of people use them. I do for nearly every race. Just keep the volume low, or keep one earbud out, and be aware of your surroundings. rD races are congested and busy - you really don't want to tune out in them.
