Towels at OKW????

No flames, Simba's Girl, but that is why we have the "pay as you play" towel packs available. It is $6 for an extra towel pack, and you can have it everyday if you choose, or you can wash towels if you choose. As Deb and Bill stated, the real issue is folks who go down to the pool area and pull out a whole stack and take them back to their room.

I'm not complaining (or whining) but does it seem strange to anyone else that paying for an extra TRASH AND TOWEL service is a flat $10, no matter the size of your villa? We are staying in a GV so it seems like a pretty darned good deal to me to get fresh towels and the trash emptied in 4 bathrooms for just a little more than what I would pay ($6) for just one extra towel set...I know the Full Housekeeping fees are per bedroom but am I right that the Trash and Towel charge is a flat one?

I guess, part of my point is is the fact that the number of towels in the room is based on room size, not number of guests. So if it were just 2 in a studio there would be no need to "swipe" towels from the pool area, but if its at max capacity (4) then that's an issue.

My question now becomes this: is DVC designed for adult travellers or families because with the towel policy the way it is, it seems to favor couples.

Yeah, I know that the real issue is the one's who abuse this policy above and beyond. Slippery slope...it is.

You know, I never noticed that before! I suspect the reason it is the same cost no matter what size unit is because it really takes so little time to pick up trash and drop off towels. That's a good point though, that getting T&T every day for $10 is a really good deal.

If I have some extra room in any of our suitcases, I throw in a couple of my own towels (colors other than white). Also, a couple of times on trash and towel day, the maids have left extra towels. :)

I just bought 2 bath towels (2.99 at Value City) that I will use specifically for DVC vacations (blue, not white, so they do not get picked up by Mousekeeping). I will pack them flat on the bottom of each suitcase so they will not take up too much extra room. DH and I always use our towels at home for 2 or 3 days, so this was not a big issue. Our concern was that in WDW, we usually take 2 showers a day. So, my extra two towels will get us through until T&T day.

I knew the towel thing could be an issue for us, so I came up with my own solution.

We all have different habbits and different needs in terms of towels on our vacations. And I believe that is why DVC has it set up as they do. Just my opinion (whatever it may be worth :teeth: )

If you have "messy children" pick up the towels after them. You get the same amount of towels in a 1 bedroom 4 sets, so the size of the room issue is not correct.
Before you hang me for the kids comment I have a 13 & 9 YO who are not the best at hanging up things. I have 2 choices do it myself, or bug them untill it gets done. DW wife has long hair and uses 2 towels ever shower, so we pay for the extra pack. Do I think DVC does not take in to account people with long hair YES :rotfl:
Nobody like to pay extra, but it is part of life.

Thanks for the support. I knew people would disagree. You are right that the issue really is that they do not supply enough towels to begin with. Also the studios do not have a washer/dryer. I would have no problem washing the towels if I were doing a load of laundry. And the pool towels do get returned to the pool.
