Towel Animals--- what do you with them....

We have only had 2 so far. It was when we stayed at the Polynesian. There was a rabbit and a flower. We "displayed" them in our room during the week. On the night before we let, I "disected" them, trying to figure out how in the heck they did that. I was unable to put them back together. I guess it takes some talent! :teeth:

We got two towel creations on our first night - a basket and some sort of bird. It looks sort of like a turkey. It has a long neck like a swan, but a tail like a turkey. Or maybe it's a peacock? Anyway...

I took pictures of them immediately. Later in the week I went to the front desk and specifically asked if I should take them or leave them - I was told to take them. DS has them in his room. :)

We saw some truly amazing animals in other windows - a dog, an elephant, a very cool monkey. Can't wait to go back to Pop!

I have had towel animals a few times. In the past I took pictures of them and left them. On my trip this past April I asked the conceriage CM if it was true that the animals are yours to keep. (as I read here) She siad "most certianly so"! So I took the 2 duckies and one rabbit. I of course left the dog because he was much bigger and a few towels pieced together. The duckies were victims of my puppy. She ate their eyes and nose :( But the rabbit survived. I don't think I would take any future ones home unless I just fell in love with it. I just don't have the space for a towel animal collection!

Thanks everyone for sharing your pictures. We did not get any animals when we stayed at WL in 2004. Maybe will get lucky for our Christmas trip!

As a proud member of PETTA I always set them free on the balcony. I refuse to be a part of the exploitation of poor helpless towel animals.

I am sad now. I didn't know we could take the towel animals. I hope we didn't insult our mousekeepers when we didn't take them. Both of our family trips, we've gotten some really elaborate animals. I think the biggest was an elephant or it might have been the stand up bunny (it must have used 4-5 towels...very elaborate).

We always take pictures and leave them sitting in a special place in the room. My girls love them.

we took pictures of ours and left a note (in addition to the tip) thanking the mousekeeper for the towel animal. :flower:
