Towel Animals, etc.

In December it was just my BF and I and we got them at both the GF and at AKL. We left tips with nice notes inside thanking the mousekeepers for helping make our stay magical.

BF actually complained about them! : He asked how he was supposed to use the washcloths when they folded them all up and put stickers on them

Me and my girlfriend stayed at CSR around the middle of December last year and when we first walked into our room we had all these waiting for us.

Yep that's 7 of them all at once waiting in our windows. The funny thing was before going, I kept reading all these people on here complaing that they didnt get any and here I am not wanting them at all and got 7 of them.

In my experience, they'll do more towel things (without asking) when staying at a deluxe resort.
I've stayed at POR 3 times, CSR once and I never got any towel animals... Only when I stayed at Contemporary, WL, and Poly did I get them

But don't let that discourage people who stay at values....I got plenty of towel animals when I stayed at POP. I got some at CBR, probably more at POP.

i never got any at AKL. none at CBR. 1 at POFQ at checkin. 1 at pop during my stay.

i just consider me unlucky.

tips and resorts have NOTHING to do with it.

Tipping has nothing to do with it. We tip a minimum of $5 a day. Out of maybe 20 stays at the Poly we have only gotten towel animals once. At both stays at the WL we got so many TA it looked like Animal Kingdom in our room! At the CBR for three trips we got towel animals every day. It is up to the mousekeeper and if she even knows how to do it. I will be making envelopes this trip that says right on the front We like towel animals! LOL! Hopefully we'll get some action!

In all the years at POR I think we we got towel animals on two visits ( I have a child and they made cute animals with the animals involved (reading a book), etc
Stayed deluxe and got nothing depite an entire room that family decorated for a birthday, so WHO KNOWS!!
If you really would like one, you could consider asking housekeeping really politely and hopefully they'll leave you one. I'd certainly tip either way though.
I usually make up envelopes before leaving with stickers from our state AND mickey as well.

this yr when staying at POP i was leaving the room and couldnt get out which was ok i ended up standing in the door way while the mousekeeper was showing a guest how she makes them!! I guess the guest had asked her how to make them. She made about 3 or 4 different ones for the guest and were they ever CUTE!!

I later was telling my mom and she saw the girl later about them and told her that her daughter was the one who was watching her make them for the guest earlier and we ended up with 2 TA's that day! I forget what we got

We've gotten them before and we don't have kids yet. But I have a Pooh that I always bring so maybe they think we have them? The only resort I've gotten them in POR.

Not to put a downer on this though as they are very cute, but I noticed on most of the pics that the towels are always staged on the bed spreads??????

I feel this is kinda gross. I'm not sure I want to wash my face with something that has been laying on a bed spread (as its well known bedspreads aren't always washed each time the occupant changes and they get thrown in the floor, etc.).

Just a thought - why don't they put them on the sink or towel bar where towels belong.



Maybe I'm a clean freak! Guess if we do get one...they will stay decorated and set aside. LOL

While we were staying at the pop in november they had a "drawing for towel animals in the lobby. They also were making them for the kids!

We have gotten a few its always a nice surprise to see them!

my favorite was the duck she got on her b-day!

DH and I stayed at POP twice - Sept. 2005 and 2006. No kids and nothing in the room that would make anyone think we had kids with us. Each time we got a towel animal. (We do tip every day because we had more than one mousekeeper)

We went early March and before we left I printed out some envelopes and letters to leave with my tip. I casually asked in the letter that if time premitted could we have a towel animal? Wow that must have really worked because this is the site we came back too...Keep in mind there were no children on this trip

I think it is the cardinal rule ask and you shall recieve. Although I made sure to prepare myself if they didn't I was still at disney so I would have been just as happy without.

DH and I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge in December and we had a new towel animal waiting for us when we returned to our room everyday.
