We just returned from a week at POFQ and we had a good news/bad news experience with towel animals from mousekeeping.

The good news was that our room (DD and I) received one on our third day!! She was thrilled, and I was so happy for her to have one. The bad news was that my MIL and niece, in the connecting room, did not receive one. MIL was NOT happy, and proceeded to gripe about how "unfair" it was, blah, blah, blah. Finally, I tracked down our maid, and it turns out that she did odd numbered rooms, and someone else did even numbered rooms. Long story short, I gave her $20 and asked her to please, for the love of God, to make another one for MIL's room, which she did just a few minutes later. Best $20 I ever spent. :rotfl:

So, if your heart is just set on a towel animal... ;)

That was very sweet of you to do that for your MIL.
I am sure your mousekeeper was thrilled also. :goodvibes

that silly MIL

Yep!

And as much as I would like to claim that I was doing it to be nice to MIL, it was much more a matter of doing whatever I had to do to make her stop whining. ;)

But another part of the equation, say observers like Deb Wills, founder of AllEarsNet.com, another unofficial Disney site, is that Disney guests have come to anticipate "magic moments" at, well, every moment. "People hear so many wonderful things they think it's going to be picture perfect," she said. Take the famed "towel animals" - towels that have been shaped to resemble wildlife - that Disney maids have been known to leave in a guest's room. What started as a surprise offering has now become a de rigueur part of the Disney experience.
Deb was right.

I hear you about the mil whining... eeesh... clever to get one for her!!

OK, but golly gee whiz, if they can do it on the Disney Cruises, charge me an extra buck - easy solution, then all the bickering can stop! (and like another posted noted, I have received them at other hotels, one Comfort Inn in Dallas TX of all places!!) But not from Disney - ok, that's the game we play, no expectation, no disappointments - right??? BUT if Igor is truly looking for simple changes, this seems to be one... NO WAIT... I'll take that back, when it becomes an expectation, then we'll move on to complain about something else!!! ooops...

never mind....
