Are you more likely to get little extras from mousekeeping by staying concierge level versus staying standard. I know concierege is about the service, so I wondered what the likelihood of this is.

I saw pictures on Tikiman's site of things that had been left for him and thought that little surprises when returning from the parks would be the perfect "icing on the cake". We will be in the Poly Concierge LV and while I don't expect anything ... one can only hope. Thanks

I think it all depends on the CM's you get. We have received towel animals on every trip we have taken and we travel w/o children and normally non concierge. We have also received chocolates and once we received fresh flowers in our room...all non-concierge. We usually tip the mousekeeping staff pretty well and I think they have returned the kindness by leaving the special things.

I have had several conversations with Tikiman and also various other people on the boards about this. We are going in November for my DS's and my birthdays. What people have told me is that if you expect things to be done, you might be disappointed. The pictures on Tikman's website are things that his friends that work at the Poly did for him and probably not the norm.

With this being the case, I have contacted concierage about buying some things to have in the room when we arrive. I have also arranged to have some balloons delivered on the night before my DS's birthday to help with the decorations. Tara did mention that we will be receiving an amenity on my DS's birthday. I haven't mentioned it to him on the off-chance that it doesn't happen.

We usually stay in CBR and got towel animals all the time as well as little scenarios set up with the kids' toys. I agree with hulabird that if you are really nice to the CM's you do tend to get treated the same way. The mousekeeping staff is usually wonderful to us and our kids but we try to make sure that they know we appreciate them.

I guess my advice would be to create magic for yourself if you are afraid of disappointment!

Hi there...

For towel animals - I stayed concierge at AKL for 9 nights, at BC for 7 nights and at AKL again for 3 nights. Out of all these nights I recieved one towel "duck" ... whereas I stayed at POFQ which is a moderate and recieved towel animals every night :)

I really think it depends on your housekeeper.

As for surprises... yes, concierge has left surprises for us at AKL we recieved hand carved giraffes on both stays and a tray of chocolate covered strawberries, at turndown the housekeeper always leaves chocolates on the pillow.

At BC we received balloons twice, a cake one night, a wooden checkers board, a picture album, signed character cards a chocolate picture frame and a tray of choclate covered strawberries.... my Dd9 recieved a princess diary and a princess stencilling kit and some chocolate bars.

I have also heard of concierge guests not receiving anything during their stay except for the expected fine service...

Extra surprises are something nice if they happen but should not be counted on - that can only lead to disappointment.
