Ok so I know its only $12 for this service but if its not worth it I dont want to spend the money since I am pinching every penny to do an (almost spur of the moment) trip to DW in november

so is touringplans.com worth it????

I had the paid subscription last year and hardly ever used it. For my trip last September all their recommended days were different than the other site I frequent (EasyWDW) and they were off. EasyWDW's were completely on. I'm sure others will chime in soon with different opinions, this is just my experience with it.

I bought it last year too but doubtful I'll renew it. I followed some of the advice but if you go during the off season there is really no point. I think if I went during the summer I'd be more inclined to use it.

Wow! I was just about to ask about touringplans when I saw this post!

Used it for our trip last August. I thought it was worth it for the best day advice. I didn't use it for much else since we're veterans and already new which rides to hit early and how to manage fp.

For the price, I'd use it again. I liked it much better than TourGuideMike, which I used on our trip before last. I found the TGM site to be very cluttered, confusing, and user unfriendly.

Happy planning!

Touringplans is definitely worth it. The book is great as well. The touring plans and the crowd levels as well as the app are all generated using statistics.

EasyWDW is a nice site, but he does not use the data that TP uses....he does however use a common sense and experienced approach.

Of all the sites I would recommend TP. Also, they have everything from Menus to current wait times to touring plans all on the app so it can be accessed while you are there.

Use Easywdw for free. Josh's site is logical and he backs up his predictions with actual data, not outdated "statistics" ~ unlike TP.

TP isn't worth the money.

Forgot about the app. My DD loves the app. In the weeks leading up to our last trip she loved looking at menus and favorite rides to see the wait time.

Is the app free? Right now I have WDW Wait Time as an app, but not sure if it's as accurate as the touring guide app.

easywdw was great for our trip last summer. We followed Josh's best day suggestions and had the parks practically to ourselves (albeit in late August when crowds are low). I can honestly say we never waited longer than 10 minutes for any ride and actually walked onto most of them. He also has great touring plans available on his website that consider interests and help you to make the showtimes without zigzagging through the parks. That was especially helpful for AK and HS. The forums over there are also good to help critique your plans.

I think it's worth the $$$ if you're going at a busy time.....

Go with easywdw, even if you weren't looking to save money, I'd give you that advice.

I thought TP was way off in April when DH and I went. I'll be interested to see if they'll also be off in June for my trip with DD. EasyWDW has different numbers than TP for the time we're there.

No, not worth it. Sorry, I know it's only $12, but still. The (free) WDW wait times app is fine, we had no problems using it last time, along with some other free wait times app. I wouldn't pay $12 just for an app I can get for free somewhere else. If your looking for crowd predictions/park recs I would use Easywdw.com If you really want to pay, use Tourguide Mike. Both are much more accurate at crowd predictions and it's really the most important information I need for them. Also, if I'm looking for a specific park touring plan, I prefer easywdw or Tourguide Mike's plan over TP. Their more real life friendly. Yes, TP does use "real data"....which they admit is from the last 10 years. Lately they seem to have some serious flaws in their system....I wouldn't use it, even if it was free!!!!

Our TP numbers were way off too for November as well.

Touring Plans is absolutely one the best investments you can make for your Disney vacation. It is only a tiny percentage of your vacation dollars but it saves you kazoodles of time at the park. I have gone to Disney World over 10times and I use it every vacation even in slow times. I don't always follow it to a "T" as we skip some of the rides but I do use it to accomplish our 'must do' rides for each park. I also take advantage of the Lines App on my phone, read their blog religiously and listen to the WDW podcast. Also, I read the Unofficial Guide. I spend a lot on my vacations and knowledge is key to getting the best bang for your buck. I cannot speak to other touring plan sites as I have not used them. This one works for us. I am a believer. :dance3:

I'm going to agree with those suggesting easywdw. I had the touringplans app for our trip last week. I started doubting it when I went to make my plans for hitting MK and it suggested the first thing I do was see Philharmagic! I ignored that and went with easywdw's reccomendations. Our first day we walked on to half of the Fantasyland rides and those that we didn't had less than a 10 minute wait. Touringplans also said that our park plans for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of our trip were parks to avoid. This was completely wrong. HS was practically empty!

It was worth it for me when we went down for spring break. We were able to do everything we wanted as a walk-on.

Between the app and the ability to have your personal plans optimized, I would say it is worth the small amount you pay.
