Touring w/baby this month: clothing advice?

My little guy will probably spend a lot of time in baby carriers: slings, Ergo, Bjorn, that kind of thing. We have a double stroller and my oldest tends to poop out pretty fast so that is the easiest way to transport all three.

If you have toured with a baby when it's hot, how did you dress him/her? I was thinking I would keep him in long pants to avoid sun exposure on his legs, but DH and I have been talking about this and he thinks baby will be too warm. So, opinions wanted - long pants to avoid the sun or shorts with sunscreen to keep him cool? He'll be wearing a hat at all times, of course, and still wearing some sunscreen on exposed parts. I just don't want him to get burned. Thanks!

I would certainly not go with the pants. That will be way to hot. I am interested to see other responses. I would go with a onsie and some shorts to slip over top of it. A nice big hat and then lots of sunscreen and try to keep the baby shaded. Maybe even take breaks in the middle of the day. What about an umbrella?

I wouldn't do long pants, either- if the baby will mostly be in a sling-type carrier, he should be able to avoid most of the sun exposure. I would probably do the one piece cute rompers (made from lightweight T shirt material) and slather on sunscreen along with the hat.

***Forgot to add- I'd also definitely bring along a lightweight sweater/jacket, because the A/C can be cold in some of the restaurants and indoor attractions.

NO PANTS! DD 22 months got dehydrated on Wednesday due to the severe humidity in Orlando. The temperature was in the low 90's but the humidity was 80% or greater. The skin prespires alot at that humidity level, heck anything over 65% and it's rough. Keep the baby hydrated and as cool as possible and you'll have a great time.
