Touring Plans Question

My family of 4 (2 of which were kids) had good luck at MK over Presidents’ Day weekend last year and CL were a 9, mastering the FP refresh. I am taking my parents (active 67 year olds) the end of March 2019 when CL are estimated to be a 7. It is a short weekend trip so only 1 day at MK on the 30th. So, just 3 adults, no kids, we are fast walkers, don’t care about sit down meals or parades, just want to hit up the rides.

Last year (with 2 little kids in tow) my family of 4 rope dropped Peter Pan and we walked on and were seated on the ride at 9:03am, then Haunted Mansion we were seated at 9:10am and then on IASM by 9:30am. I kept notes on my phone. We took the little short cut to the right after going over the bridge to get to Peter Pan. So maybe we beat the herd?

I am trying out Touring Plans this year. When I put in Peter Pan for 9am, it is telling me a 25 minute wait?

If I take out Peter Pan and make it our first FP during the 10 o’clock hour, it tells me to go to Jungle Cruise for our first ride!?!? I have read on the forum some people don’t feel this is the best option for first ride if headed to Adventure Land first as JC is slow filling boats so we miss out on getting in several rides the first hour before lines get long? Try for JC fast pass later in the day instead?

Based upon my ONE trip last year, I was hoping to RD Peter Pan again, then go to Haunted House, followed by Pirates, and then be to Splash no later than 10am, with fast passes for:
BTMRR 10:00-11:00
7DMT 11:00-12:00
Space MT 12:00-1:00
Then try for additional fast passes for party of 3 for Buzz, Winnie the Poo, JC and IASW. Fill in gaps with snacks, people mover, presidents, etc. No little kiddie rides. And then be out of the park by 5:00pm. We are fast walkers, I learned the modify/refresh technique well last year. CL according to Touring Plans is estimated to be a 7 (I know that may change).

What are your thoughts to either rope drop PP with hopes of walking on like last year or get a FP instead? We are staying on property.

IS the park opening early this year? If the parks opening is really at 8, then the 30 minutes makes sense. If it opens at 9, it doesn't make a lot of sense, except the wait will probably be 30 minutes by 9:15-9:30.
If the park opens at 9, I think your plan looks reasonable.

I think your plan looks perfect.

You might have a little bit of a wait by the time you get to Splash, but it shouldn't be too bad -- 30 minutes at most.

Put a fake breakfast at BOG ressie in for 8:30 w/ 30 minutes to eat. That way you'll be able to TP into knowing you'll be at the front of RD

Im not sure what kind of restaurant BOG is, but if one makes the reservation and then doesn't show up, don't they penalize the credit card you have to leave on file to hold the reservation?

Correct but what we were talking about was telling the “Touring Plans” website that I was at the front of the pack so the Touring Plans website adjusts its estimated time it will take for me to go through Peter Pan.

Yes, you are charged $10.00 pp if you don't show, HOWEVER, if only one of you shows up and buys a meal, there is no penalty.
It may be too late to do a PPO breakfast though as you're past the 180 day mark.

?????
Say what?
If you have a membership to touringplans.com you can build a touring schedule/plan for the day. It is just to help assist planning. I just thought it was overestimating the time it would take at Peter Pan if I was rope dropping. So for the computer to understand I hope to be at the front of the pack and not the pack. Just trying to get the software to understand I am not a lollygagger ;)

Ahhhhhh, got it, thanks!

I just booked an 8:20 breakfast (9:00am park opening) at BOG. Can we just order the cupcakes or do we have to order the breakfast? Not much of a breakfast person to begin with. When we are done, are we free to walk through the park to go wait by whatever ride we want or do they hold you until a certain time?

You can order what you want, not sure they have the cupcakes for breakfast.
And the only place you could go as of last March was 7DMT line.

Yeah, TP always assumes you're arriving at park opening and not at the front of the RD pack. But I have a trick to mimic being at the front of the pack - I simply add a fourth FP+ to the touring plan for whatever we're riding first, and it enters the ride time based on using that FP+ rather than being stuck in the herd.

For example, if we're RDing AK (9am opening) and going to FOP first, I'll just add a FP+ for FOP for 9-10am in addition to my three real FP+, and then I put FOP first in the touring plan. Then the ride time approximates what it should be if we're at the front of the pack, and the touring plan goes from there.

Happy planning!
