What is a good touring plan when Everest is open?

We are going in April (14-20), and are wondering what a good touring plan would be. Should we get fastpass right away? Has the UG been updated for this? I thought I read that UG will be updated in March? Is that true? If so, I will wait to buy it.

Sorry but I am a constant planner.....

Well I am betting that this will be THE ride this year. So I would ride it right away as soon as you get there or get a fast pass then head over to the safari- or if you are ready to get wet - ride Kali and then safari then Expedition Everest with your Fast Pass. JMHO (and I never follow the guide books because look around and see how many others have that book in their hands...not so secret if half the park is doing it. lol) But if it has worked for you in the past then go for it. In AK the only other "rides" that may have waits besides the ones I already mentioned would be Dinosaur and that carnival rollercoaster thing- Triceratops Spin I think it is called.-oops wrong one Primeval whirl.

oh and edit to add you are right I forgot Tough to be a bug- because my guys are all terrified of that one! so we saw it once and they will never go back again! (Oh well I still have the baby..maybe he'll like it!)

java hit the nail on the head (with the exception of It's Tough to be a Bug! being popular as well)

you will most definitely want a fastpass for EE unless you are there really early when the line is under 30 mins. have fun!

Since it will be THE RIDE, can we get fastpass and get in line to ride too? Then we would be sure to ride twice in one day? We are the type who get there early, and I don't want to "waste" a FP on it and then have to wait for Safari too long.
I guess we will decide when we see the FP times. But we will be in line right away!

I agree with you java, the UG is in the hands of MANY guests! Including mine! Its still gives me a sense of order. Sometimes I get so excited about being there I forget what I should do next! lol Since we are there at a very busy time, I use the book to give me an "edge", however slight. I still see families who wander around and then get frustrated because they couldn't go on very many rides.

I would head over there immediately after opening, get a fastpass & wait in line. AK is going to be the place to be!

touringplans.com, the UG website does have a touring plan available for AK that takes EE into effect. Don't know whether it is one of the free sample plans available or if it one that you can only get if you subscribe, $6.95, in order to have access to. Might want to check it out.

I sure hope so, because that's what my son and I are planning to do. :cool1:

I'm planning to walk as fast as possible to EE, have son hop in line while I grab Fastpasses. This way we should be able to get two rides in before the crowds hit.

I wonder how EE will affect KS. :confused3

I don't know how I'm going to make it through the next two months. :hyper: :hyper:

I would haul butt over there, get a FP *and* ride it. You can always use the FP after it expires.

RUN RUN RUN!!! lol

pick up a fastpass as you are about to enter the line. you will get a fastpass then run into the line which shouldnt have too long of a wait. then come back later and enjoy it again with no wait!

with this being said, get to the park early and get ready for opening!
