So many attractions aren't yet open? Any thoughts on the best use of time during this hour? Assuming we should just focus on one area or "land." We aren't that interested in the meet and greets which helps. Would love to hear what the experts think about maximing this hour. Thank you!!

We do some in Fantasyland, some in Tomorrowland.
And, we can ride quite a few during that hour.

Not enough information about your travel party to make specific recommendations, but here is what we plan to do. We are 'rope droppers'- actually plan to arrive at the turnstiles about 45 minutes before the official opening time so we are at or towards the front of the group headed to 7DMT. We are going to do 7DMT, PP, Pooh, then head to Tommowland and check wait time on Buzz. If doable before the park opens to the GP we will wait- if not we will head to HM and wait for it to open. After that will be Splash, BTMRR and PotC- maybe Jungle Cruise- will see how things look as it will be almost 11 AM by then. We have a second morning in the MK during non EMH when we have Buzz listed first (we don't do Space Mtn or character M&Gs)- but if we can get it out of the way during EMH we will. As long as you get most of the stuff out of the way that have long wait times during regular park hours- the rest of the day you will be home free, as you should be several steps ahead of those that don't get there early and shouldn't have much of a wait to do anything until after lunch if you plan the attraction order correctly. Some things you may want to try to get FP+s for and backtrack later so you can get as much done as possible before the park opens to the GP.

Hard to say without knowing what you are interested in. But I would focus on things that 1.will have the longest lines later and 2.are short in duration. My rope drop plan for EMH since only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland are open would be to RD Peter Pan and Pooh, and head for Space immediately after. If you can't get FPs for 7DMT you could head there first, but that would throw off my entire morning for planning since I have no idea how long that would take. I simply save that one for FP or don't do it. After Space, I'd do Astro Orbiter and the Speedway if you are interested in them, and then move on to Buzz. Then Dumbo/Barnstormer if interested, and Mermaid. If you really want to run around the park and get the most out of your time, you could abandon your morning plans as soon as it's about 8:50 and head for the internal RD for Liberty Square and head for Big Thunder and Splash. Then Pirates/Jungle Cruise/Haunted Mansion.

What Robo said. You can tick off a lot of attractions in Fantasyland or Tomorrowland during that hour. And if you get to BTMRR or Splash when they open at 9am you can often get in multiple rides with little to no wait.

As srauseo said.... Fantasyland has a lot of open attractions, and they are all short. So you can knock out 3 or 4 Fantasyland attractions, and then be the first to ride one of the mountains when they open at 9. I have no clue how the Mine Coaster is during EMH, but apart from that...
By 9:30, you can easily have completed: Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, Teacups, maybe Small World, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. To me, that's practically a whole day worth of activities, crammed into 90 minutes.

Perfect advice. Thank you all so much. We have FP's for 7DMT, PP and all the Mountains at other times so I think we will try to hit IASW, Winnie, Dumbo and Carousel and then be ready for HM, PofC and JC right at 9. Thank you all for taking the time.

IASW can eat a LOT of time, as the boats get stacked up awaiting unloading.
I'd do it later in the day.
Same timing factor for Mickey's PhilharMagic (a must-do, IMHO, one of the best at WDW) so put it off, too.

Really?? Interesting about IASW. Makes total sense. I'd like to get on it without too much of a wait though as it's a sentimental favorite. What time do you think would be best?? Late morning? Wonder how long the wait would be after lunch?? Hmmmmm, food for thought. Thanks!

Party of 11, mid July. We were successful with the following EMH plan:

8-9: Space Mountain, Speedway, Buzz
8:55ish walked over to Frontierland, got there right when they started walking people back.
Rode Splash and BTMRR (probably could have ridden BTMRR again)
10am FP+ Haunted Mansion ( we were early which is why I think we could have ridden BTMRR again)
IASW (15 minute wait), Tea Cups, (15 minute wait), Dumbo (10 minutes)
11ish FP+ 7DMT
12ish BOG lunch
1:30 FP+ Peter Pan

We were early to all of out FP's. The Fantasyland rides without FP were a play it by ear thing. The lines were VERY reasonable at that time in July on an EMH morning. There was hardly anyone in Dumbo.

You're over-thinking it...
because there's no way to accurately predict exactly when whomever else will go and do exactly what. ;)

(I just didn't want you to spend a lot of super-premium early-morning EMH riding time sitting in a boat waiting to exit one ride.)

If you plan to ride 7DMT during EMH, be sure to be there at rope drop. We arrived in the park at 8:15 and the line was already an hour.
