I have noticed on my last two stays that it seems there is always one room available for DVC preview. I am wondering if that is always available among all the resorts? Was wondering if on a off park day, while staying in Orlando, if it is doable to just resort hop and check all the rooms out.

It's not, really. The sold out resorts run at 95%+ capacity, and either they're turning over rooms (they're dirty/being housekept) or they're occupied. If there's a clean and available unit, some resorts may show you the room, but it's not really predictable that it will be the case.

BWV, PVB, CCV have preview rooms. All other resorts do not. The front desk/concierge may show you a room but it's not their job, they have nothing to do with DVC sales. Getting their cooperation can be hit and miss.

I agree. We dropped by Vero Beach once and asked at the front desk if we could see one of the Inn rooms. A very nice woman agreed to show us one. Once inside the room it was clear from her demeanor (very polite, but rushed) that there wasn't time for anything more than a quick look because she had to get back to the front desk. After that, we stuck to studying the floor plans and room photo tours available online for those resorts that do not have staffed preview rooms.
