Touring AFTER purchase?

Anyone take the tour at BWV AFTER they had already purchased? We're thinking about going for it now so we can book at the eleventh month window for spring break, but we'll be in WDW next month at AKL and thought we might like to take the tour at least to see the layouts of all the rooms. (We've only stayed in a studio at BCV by renting.)

Does the tour also take you to the other DVC resorts?

Thanks!

You can certainly set up a tour at the BWV Sales Center. You can call your guide and set it up- ot even drop in and see if someone can take you. (Avance notice is probably better). The tour includes model rooms for BWV, BCV and VWL right at the sales center.

There is a model at the BCV- sign the member guestbook and ask for a pin. There are no models at VWL or OKW, but if you go to the desk at those resorts, they may be able to allow you to look around an unoccupied room. (I'd go between 11:00am and 3:00Ppm for the best opportunity for an impromptu tour.). The DVC tours do not travel to theother resorts. they have a virtual tour of OKW/VWL/HH/VB set up on the computers to get a look at those resorts.

Enjoy!

When we originally bought DVC, it was at HH, so we had never taken the tour at BWV. We went over to BW last summer to tour and it was great. DH actually videotaped all of the models (we're a little weird, I know:rolleyes: ). Then we went over to BCV to tour the models there. I'm sure that when the sales center opens at SSR, we will check that out to.

Really, we're not obsessed!

Hi Shan- last October we did as Doc suggested, and contacted the desks at VWL and OKW to see some rooms. They were happy to set up impromtu tours for us.

We bought at BWV in 1998 after staying at OKW and loving it. All we saw of BWV was the brochure, which we requested via phone when we got back home and found out OKW was sold out. We joked with Celeste, our guide, that it was probably the easiest sale she ever had. We bought 270 points over the phone and through the mail, and we got DVC financing. DVC made it easy.
(We subsequently bought 232 points at OKW through a resale broker)

Now we go twice a year, our friends and family think we're nuts, and we love it!

We purchased at OKW in 1995 without ever having seen the resort. We made our first trip to OKW in July and never managed to connect with our guide. When we returned to OKW in July 1996, we decided to take the tour (even though we had been members for over a year). We got the complete treatment including a photo and ice cream sundaes. We figured that it would be our only opportunity to see a Grand Villa. Then in 1998, we ended up staying in a Grand Villa at OKW.

Go ahead and take the tour. Who knows. You might even purchase some more points. :)

Towncrier -- how did you know?

We set up tour when they ran a special offer. Bought and closed before the trip. Kept the package and did the tour anyway to meet our guide.

Did add-on on the tour!! :)

I took the tour in 93, then again in 96, then again in 2002, and finally bought it. We had the same guide all three tours. I couldn't believe they keep the same people all that time. Funny the price didn't really change from the first time, except of course we could have been using it the points the whole time. The tour is great! Last year we stoped at a kiosk in AK just to see how much it was now, and he set us up for a tour with the same guide we had, and the next day we finally, after 10 years of procrastination bougt it. So if at first you don't succeed, you will....:smooth:

I did the tour about 3 months after I bought. I bought in September 1999 over the phone because I wanted an April use year and they were only selling April until the end of September. I already had a trip booked for early December to Dixie Landings, so I kept that reservation and banked the points I had left after Magical Beginnings (at that time you could only use 150 pts for MB). So on our December trip we took the tour! Luckily my guide was working that day so I got to meet him (he was a friend's guide so I called him when I was ready to buy). He even did the full guided tour, down to the Fiestaware and Casio Sleeper!

This is getting frightening as I swear I was thinking of posting this same exact question!!

We're all spending too much time together!:D

This is a question I have pondered as well. We purchased BCV about two months ago over the phone and our first trip is scheduled for December :-(

I will be going down to Disney on a business trip next month and would like to take the tour. It sounds like it will not be too much trouble...

Does anyone know if they do tours in the evening?

My wife wants me to video the rooms if I take the tour. Does Disney allow that?

Thanks for your help.

BrianTime,

It's been a long time since I walked through the sales center on the Boardwalk, but I "think" they keep "later hours" - past dark. Your best bet is to call and schedule a tour ahead of time.

As far as the model that's open inside BCV - I seem to recall that it closes around 5:00 PM.

And as far as videotaping - they will allow it. I've taken MANY pictures in the models over the years!

Have a great trip, and Welcome Home!
