Toured GFV model today...GORGEOUS!

Looks great! Except I'm a little concerned about that hidden bed. There is a TV right above it. If a child is an active sleeper, could it be a danger I wonder????

The hidden beds are small but seem like a regular twin size mattress but the support bar seems sort of flimsy so I would say its more like a trundle bed meant for a younger child.

Yes, the middle drawer of the fridge is the ice maker. I thought that was so cool. I really liked the set up of the kitchen a lot, especially the extra "breakfast nook" area and the sink and fridge. Actually it was all beautiful.

We are a family of 4 (dd's are now 17 & 21) so I really appreciate the second shower in a studio. We have been at OKW now in a studio for 9 nights and an extra shower would have made a huge difference for us.

Here is a link to a thread from May where I posted pictures as well:

One thing we were told was that some of the furniture that is in the model will not be the finished product, such as the trundle bed and cabinet under the tv. There will still be a trundle bed, but not the cabinet that is there now with the mirrored glass. The bed in the studio will be different with drawers under the bed for storage.

The pictures look great!

The disappointing thing to me is that the one bedroom only has one bathroom. I would think they would have followed suit from Kidani and Blt, where the one bed has two baths. The two showers are nice in the studio, but I believe you have to go through one to get to the other-- so to get to the toilet you have to go through the first shower room? not the best plan.

Okay-- I see the studio has separate doors for the two showers. thats better-- but is one just a tub? Like in the 1 bed?

omg....i think i'm in love

thank you, both momof2 and rwethereyet - while you had some similar shots, each showed different angles. the in-room robes are a beautiful detail, along with tray ceiling, cabinetry, kitchen seating...and on & on & on.

i'm curious about one thing (well, many things, but this i'll actually pose a question about;)): i see there is there no to little storage under the bathroom sink/vanity in the studio - are there any additional cabinets to make up for the lost storage?
we usually use that area for storing:
my hairdryer, flat iron, cosmetics, sunscreen, hair & face products, razors, small mirror, etc. and our shampoo, conditioners, etc are all removed from the shower and put away on housekeeping days (had my pricey conditioner disappear once, i assume in the pile of dirty towels).

obviously, not a deal breaker - we can buy or bring some sort of basket/box, if needed. but i am curious.

big congrats to those that bought GFV - it is a truly beautiful resort, and i really hope to stay there someday :cloud9:

Is the tub in the 1BR a "regular" tub, not a Jacuzzi? And though the 2BR COULD sleep 10, are 10 going to be allowed? I could be wrong, but I think the GV at BLT CAN sleep 14, but only 12 are allowed.

I love these pictures and the rooms. I have never had a desire to stay at the GF, but the set-up of these rooms really strikes me.

I don't think I will buy there, but I will certainly be trying to sneak in at the 7 month mark in a couple of years when the new-ness has wore off.

The tub in the one bedroom is not a jacuzzi. The guide said it make bubbles like champaign from the bottom of the tub.

What are the hours for the preview center? I may go see the rooms next week if the time works for me. I'm somewhat hesitant because I've so far resisted adding on. If I see them for real I may succumb to the temptation.

They look great. So glad we bought in. Looking forward to seeing the models next month.

then please tell your grandmother she has exquisite taste :)

It really doesn't in person. The pictures truly do not do it justice.

It's not a bad thing, just fits a specific style. I don't despise my grandmother's style, but it's very old-world and has a feel that is very specific to a lifestyle.

Examples, the soaking tub you could see right in my grandmother's bathroom, they are insanely comfortable, but in a DVC, they will most likely be very under-utilized.

The furniture, spindles and all, very old-world style, but also doesn't wear well with heavy abuse that DVCs often experience. This is similar to what BLT experienced with their modern furniture (but to a lesser extent).

I agree with others though, the pull down seating under the TV, not very functional and to me, not very intelligent design. I hear though, as others have mentioned that they may not be exactly this in the actual rooms.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing! I will certainly look into booking a studio at the 7 month window.

9-5

One of the booking agents in DHS told us current owners that don't want to meet with a guide to talk incentives are supposed to get tours on the hour. We got there 15-20 minutes after the hour and waited maybe 10 minutes for a guide to take us and another couple to the model. We didn't get to linger for long - maybe 10 minutes tops.

So it sounds as if you have actually seen the models and been able to touch the fabrics, etc.? When I was there, I thought the fabrics felt very serviceable and not flimsy at all.
