Tour question

We never took the tour last year due to conflicting schedules with our guide. We bought in October without seeing BLT. Our October 2011 vacation where we booked BLT was cancelled. We had to book a trip in July instead but in SSR. We also checked for BLT availability for last week of Dec and nothing is available (studio, 1BR or 2BR). No trip planned in 2012 and possible next trip is 2013

So I am wondering, will it be ok to take a BLT tour after the fact and we are not adding on in the near future? If yes, should I do the tour with our guide?

Your Guide probably won't want you to take up his time unless you are planning to buy more points. Often the Guides will have you tour with a CM who is not a Guide. Give him a call and find out.

Unless it has changed, they used to hold something like an Open House from 2 - 4 pm at BLT to view the models. That would allow you to see the resort.

When you are at SSR in July, stop by the preview center and find out if they are still going on.

If you live in the Chicagoland area, you could always head to the Doorway to Dreams in Woodfield mall in Schaumburg. They have BLT model rooms there and that's where I signed.

We bought sight un-seen as well. I guess it depends on the guide, but I called ours a few days ahead of time and told him we would like to see the models, if there was a convenient time for him and he gladly took us on the tour. It was nice to put a face with the voice that sold us our second "home".

If they are no longer having the open house at BLT, ask at the front desk to see a room. We did at VWL and they were very accommodating.
