Tour on my own

I'm planning to go on the "Yuletide Fantasy" tour on my own while on a group trip to WDW in early December. I'm really an Epcot fan, with special emphasis on the World Showcase, so I was upset to see the "Gardens of the World" tour disappear in the past year or so while this trip was in the works.

Has anyone done this tour alone? Any tours alone? Would you recommend the experience?

Thanks for your input!

I did the Keys to the Kingdom tour alone a couple years ago. It was great. I even got to sit at the table with the tour guide at lunch. Everyone else on the tour was in a couple. I would do that tour again, solo or otherwise and would also do a different tour solo. I'll have to look into the Yuletide tour.

i also did the KTTK tour solo. by that time, i was dying to have long conversations and i loved that we did everything as a group. i sat at lunch with a nice family from michigan i think. it was a lot of fun and a very full day. i want to do one of the segway tours next.

I am also doing the Yuletide Fantasy tour solo. I will be doing it on the 12/8.

In the past, I haev done the KTTK and Around the World on a Segway tours solo and had a great time on each one.

I've done KTTK solo and the Around the World Segway tour solo. Both were great. I always found somebody to talk to and had a great time.

Next week I'm doing Backstage Safari, Ft. Wilderness Segway and Around the World Segway and it's the part of my trip I'm looking the most forward to.

I did Backstage Safari solo, while DH and DMIL were golfing. No problems at all. I din't really feel solo, there's a group of people just following along (the tour group) and we all kind of felt like one big group touring together. Oh, and I just remembered, I also did the Wanyama Sunset Safari solo at AKL/AKV.

Thanks to all of you for your replies. Since Yuletide Fantasy is only 1/2 day (8:45am - 12:30pm), there's no lunch, just traveling from Epcot to HS, to MK, to GF and back to Epcot as I understand it.

Do I need to sign up in advance? I'm hoping to go Wed. 12/10.

I appreciate your help!

Yes, you should sign up in advance. Call WDW at 1-407-WDW-TOUR to sign up.

Thanks, I'll call to set it up! Do they charge you for it then, or not until the Tour occurs?

I'm considering using my Disney Visa to pay for the tour (I understand there's a discount - 20% off tours?).

OR I might prefer to use my DDRD which I've accrued over the past few years by using my Disney Visa regularly. I've got 300+ DDRD, so some of it may as well go toward the tour. Does anyone know if they will accept this as payment? As an alternative, I figure I could also charge it to my room and then pay off this (and other incidentals) using DDRD at check-out...?

Thanks again!

I did the Yuletide tour several years ago. Assuming that it is still the same or very similar to what I experienced, you will love it. The greatest percentage of time was in the WS learning about the Christmas customs of several of the countries. Next amount of time was MK and then a small amount of time at AK and DHS. We also got a neat gift at the end- don't want to spoil it, in case they are giving out the same thing.

I have done several tours by myself (most of my trips are solo) and I always find another single (or two) on the tour to hang out with.

I recently signed up for the KTTK tour and had to pay at the time I booked it. I am assuming it is the same for all tours. I used my Disney Visa. Not sure of you could use your DDRD, but it would be worth calling to find out!
