Let me first say, that I LOVE your website....I joined 2 weeks ago and I could never imagine going without it.

That being said, I work for AT&T, and you need to speak with your IT guy, or telecom account manager, and develop a better DR plan

I love your website, but I would imagine, there are lots of people that wanted to join and instead went elsewhere.

Every minute you are down, you lose business. Dont let anyone tell you different

But anyways, I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE!

I'm sorry you're having to go through this. It must be very frustrating. You obviously have a ton of fans, and I am one of them! Your service is invaluable and the knowledge you have of WDW is immense. I have gotten my money's worth 1,000 times over. Keep up the great work and best wishes for a hacker free website - shame on them!

thanks Mike....coming from the weird IT world, better the IT guys "do it right" & bring you back up safe & sound for the long haul..... that dual server thing is called "mirroring" btw... It's like getting a FP & then using the single rider line ..... you get a "backup".. :eek:

Thanks for keeping us updated with the progress, Mike! I can't imagine you having any enemies. Although I don't know you personally, it seems like I do from the "voice" in your articles, and you seem like a genuinely good and nice person. That is probably one of the reasons your site is so popular! I hope it's back online soon!

Just wondering, I keep reading that you guys are seeing a "time out" message but I don't. I keep getting the same "Cannot find Server" message. I even tried switching to my laptop to see if it made a difference. Whats the deal?

ETA: I know the site isn't up and running I'm just asking because I don't know if it will end up being another one of those my ISP needs to rediscover your address-thingys like when we had that stumble awhile back.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking here the last couple of days to see what's going on with the site. I had to register so I could say how excited I am to see TGM should be back up soon!!
 
LS, I was told that once we're back up, everyone will be able to see us. We'll still have the same IP address on the Internet, so no 'discovery' will be required. What you're referring to happened when we moved our server from one hosting company to another and the IP address was changed because of the new location.

We are completely offline right now -- we're not on the Internet at all -- so any timing out would be from your browser attempting to find an address you have typed in and then reporting back that it was unable to do so. The experiences will vary from computer to computer. For example, my laptop is a new Dell and it automatically takes me to the Dell search page results within a couple of seconds after typing in 'tourguidemike.com.' My main office computer attempts to find it and then comes up with the standard 'this page does not exist' thing.

Once we're back up everyone should immediately see us and be able to login to their AVP. We'll be racing on our end to ensure there's nothing wrong anywhere, as well as testing the email services, forums, etc.
 
Mike, any contingency plan if it doesn't come back up? I realize it has nothing to do with you, but it's supposed to have been back up several times since this morning. I would just love to get my hands on the March best days.
