please help with my ignorance

Of no problems, you will be ok. :thumbsup2

I had no issues with the card security when I signed up, and I haven't heard of anyone else having them. I wouldn't worry. :)

There is nothing wrong with the security of our purchase page as it is encrypted and secured by VeriSign, one of the Internet's most recognizable and respected security services for online purchases. This is a Firefox/Safari -- any browser that is Mozilla based -- issue.

If you read that popup 'warning,' you'll see that there's more to it than just the opening statement. It gives you the opportunity to temporarily accept the site's certificate during your current session, and doing so gives you the opportunity to actually reach the purchase page -- which you haven't seen yet -- and reviewing everything anyone always should when making a purchase over the Internet:

~ Does the url begin with h*t*t*p*s instead of h*t*t*p? (The 's' stands for 'secure.') BTW, I had to put the asterisks in or the Disboards forums software thought I was trying to post a web site.

~ Does your browser display the lock symbol wherever it's supposed to? For example, IE 6.0 and below shows it in the lower right corner. IE 7.0 Beta shows it up at the top and highlights the url window in blue. Firefox displays the url in yellow (in my version) and shows the locked lock up there with the url as well. I'm using a theme though, so not sure if those locations are always used. I'm pretty sure they are.

~ When you click on the security graphic -- in my case, VeriSign Secured -- does the url of the site match the url of the certificate. (Yes, mine does.)

~ Is it a trusted site that others have used successfully, that you know of either through reviews, a third party, or friends/family?

***********

With all that noted, I understand your concern and will bring it to the attention of our development team when I meet with them tomorrow morning. Again, this is a browser issue, not our purchase page, but I thank you for at least asking about it instead of simply giving up and walking away!

I'm sure they'll find out it's something very simple -- something that we have to put in the page's code to be properly recognized by those kinds of browsers, and all will be well again. If you would like to wait until your browser no longer displays the warning, I understand completely!

Best regards,
