When Tour Guide Mike started up, all my friends and family started calling me and saying "This guy is charging for what you do for us for free!"

To which I replied, "smart guy!!!"

So while I don't need him (nor do my close friends & fam since I still create the itineraries for them), he's a smart cookie for coming up with it and making money off it.

My F&F swear by mine and won't go to Disney without one, so I'm betting he's worth it...

Here is how I see it. His best days are fantastic. They can’t be beat. Then you have the rest of his site. Information you can find here for free, or at All Ears for free. Or stuff that you find in a copy of The Unofficial Guide. The UG is portable, a heck of lot easier to understand than his impossible to navigate website and is updated quickly at touringplans.com. Plus you get to keep it. Throw in a few cost saving measures at Mouse Savers and you may be doing better than TGM. Heck, I find out about discount codes by checking in here and at Mouse Savers ever so often several days—perhaps even a full week—sooner than I got TGM PMs. However, the best days feature is really good.

I don't feel it is worth what he charges. It might not be much in the bigger scheme of a WDW vacation, but if you just throw $20 away here and there, you're overall wasting quite a bit of money. And you are doing way better than me! We're an every penny counts. In order to have the best time there, we spend as little prepping to get there as possible. If it's free, why pay? I prefer to have an extra sit-down meal, dessert, souvenir, etc. Our funds are limited; I can’t exceed what has been put aside for any vacation.
