Can anyone tell me when I can begin planning for my trip on TGM? We are going in November and I am very anxious to get started. I have tried to find out on his site, but my computer lines are so incredibly slow. I am sure you all can tell me before I find the answer there!!

thanks so much!

You can start planning as soon as you sign up! Your subscription lasts from sign-up day till 3 months after you return from your trip. Disney has not released November park hours yet (just checked disney.com), but they should be out anytime. Then it will take a little time for TGM to get the best park days/nights charts released. Have a great trip!!!

I would sign up now for TGM. There are plenty of good tips to learn on the site. I, among others, feel that the site is a little confusing at first. But once you get a little experience on there, you start to understand the "thinking" behind the whole thing. Then it is a snap!

Thank you so much!

you all are th best, I am off to plan.....yaaaaa!

Think of it this way, if you were going to buy a book on Disney for planning, would it be better to wait until closer to your trip or start now?

Only some of the info there is relevant to the time of year you go and particular days you go which means they have to wait until Disney releases hours for that month. But there is a TON of information there to start building a foundation of knowledge. Then when the new hours come out you'll be that much ahead.

The other way to think of it is, it doesn't get any cheaper if you wait, if you sign up now you'll have more time to use the information.

You can take a look at his recommendations for last year, Nov 06 to get a sense for things until the Nov. park hours come out and he puts together this year's recommendations.

We signed up almost a year before our trip. There are LOTS of articles for you to read so the sooner the better. Also there is a great forum that fellow TGM'ers post on. We just got back from our trip a few weeks ago and his touring plans worked like a charm. Good luck and happy planning!!!

I'm going in Nov, and I signed up with TGM in January! I looked at last years info to get a tentative plan. Join the vacation club for up to date info-we are all waiting on park hours!

Can someone tell me how TGM works if you have multiple trips planned? Can you use it for all of them?

As everyone says, it is fun to sign up early and browse through the tips, etc. Do NOT have your hopes up though that the most valuable by far feature of the site (the Least Crowded Days Chart) will be up much in advance of your trip. We are going in August 2007 and are still waiting (relatively) patiently...

August, September, and October charts are already there. I'm waiting on November, so I just checked to make sure. From what I understand, he gets the charts up within a few weeks of the release of park hours.

TGM is Tour Guide Mike.

You are supposed to sign up for one trip at a time. I think you can only be in one vacation club (the month of your vacation) at a time, unless your trip overlaps 2 months. That is where the good info is! But you do get a discount for the next trip.

he currently has best days advice through october 2007. i see you're active on the site, but most of your posts are in the august 2007 forum which i can't read, so i'm not sure what the source of the confusion would be.

http://www.tourguidemike.com/expressPlanners/august.asp is all about 8/07

I originally signed up for my Nov. 2007 trip, then after signing up, I decided to do a two-night Sept 2007 trip. The Sept trip info isn't in my TGM profile, but I had no problem joining the Sept forum in addition to the Nov forum. And aside from the forums, you have access to the trip planning info for all months (which is very useful for getting a general sense for how things work before he comes out with his best days advice for your month).

if you have multiple trips coming up, say 3 months apart, he's not going to penalize you by having to wait for the first one to come and then only have 3 months to plan for the next one.

that said, it is meant to be per trip and he does discount for return trips, so it's only fair that you do sign back up for the 2nd trip after the first one is complete. not to mention he even gives you 2 months AFTER your trip for some reason.

bottom line, he's more than fair, so he deserves that much in return.

Signing up now would be good because you can spend some time reading all of his more general information about how to plan a trip and how to tour the parks. That way, you'll learn all the basics before you get into the details of planning your exact itinerary.

I noticed that many of you who do TGM have been to Disney many times as we have. Do you really feel that his advice is helpful during a relatively slow time (for us-last 2 wks of august) even if you're veterans of the parks and know tons of info already?

They'll be a large group of us (total of 8) ranging in age from 2 to 75. We're not looking to go commando so will his website really make a difference for us?

Thanks

I've used TGM for all 3 of our trips, so I can't really compare it to what a trip would be like without it. I definitely think that I got the most out of it the first time, but that's only because there was less to learn after that. I still find his best days advice extremely valuable and I enjoy the forums over there. For me, even if I don't "need" TGM, I find it well worth $20.
