Has anyone sat through a timeshare presentation for free admission tickets?

If so... how was it? And were the tickets legitimate?

I was thinking of doing a tour for free Disney passes. :guilty:

Yes, we have done it. The tickets are legit and a good deal. It did take us a whole morning - by the time you drive to the resort, check in, start presentation, go through presentation, and chec out - it takes awhile. Of course, you also have to deal with the high pressure tactics of the salespeople. We thought it was worth it but we had the time. Just remember - don't buy anything from them!

Some timeshare presentations are more high pressure than others. Although I do have to say that when we did ours, it took 4 hours. We in the end bought into it, because we were in the market, but this year, we thought about upgrading, and I told the salesman up front. I have things planned today, I don't want to spend the whole day here.

The tickets are more than legit, some give actual money. Just make sure its FREE, and not discounted. I was under the impression the tickets were free when I agreed to do the upgrade this past summer, and they were not. Just double check it. If you are not into wasting time, keep an eye on the clock. Its only supposed to be 90 minutes. I started to get antsy since I did have other plans, and told the salesman that I had to get going, and lets get down to the paper work. Another suggestion is to eat before you go, another big time waster. They offer a free breakfast, well don't bother, that time spent eating is not accounted for into the 90 minutes. I did grab a cup of coffee, but that was about it.

If you have any question, feel free to ask! Enjoy!

Seems a shame to waste valuable vacation time though

I think it's more of a shame to waste my valuable money, if I can get tickets for free!

We did the presentation at Cypress Point a couple of years ago. It was fairly low pressure. I don't remember being too upset by it. We saved about $120 off the price of our one day WDW tickets for the 4 of us. It was a good deal for us.

This vacation, I have about 3 days where we don't have anything planned as of yet. I will absolutely check out the incentives at Orbit One for doing the timeshare presentation, and if it suits us, we will do it.

Really, it's hard for them to be hard pressure when we tell them that we are enjoying their resort via skyauction, at less than half the cost of the annual maintenance fee! I'm not anticipating any problems.

We have done it, and the tickets were legit, but the 90 min presentation turned into almost 4 hours, and there were some pretty high pressure sales tactics being used. I don't think I would ever do it again. We left with free tickets, but feeling exhausted and like we had wasted most of our day. It was definitely not fun. HTH

Thanks for all the input so far. I don't think I will be wasting time since we will be staying at our timeshare for two weeks. I see some of you named specific resorts. I would really appreciate any advice on which timeshare resorts were less pressure than others. :thumbsup2

In practicaly all cases you can buy the same timeshare for far less secondhand as opposed to at the presentation.

In many cases it is cheaper to rent a timeshare instead of buying into it, after taking into account the purchase price, annual fees, property tax, etc.

Disney timeshare tickets are worth about two dollars each when used for, say, day five of a relatively long vacation. Some have hard expiration dates preventing them from being saved for future use.

According to the DIS experts, stay AWAY from anything with WestGate in the title. They are really hard-sell, high pressure at their presentation.

What type of WDW tix do they usually offer & for how many people?

I agree, we did them in the late 90's and certainly would not go back. the others are OK, Hilton even give a written promise of 90 minutes.
