Day 2 Part 2
Where's Morocco?
After a delicious lunch at Via Napoli, we were on our way to Future World to use our Test Track fastpasses. We had a little time before our return time so we went on Spaceship Earth.
Believe it or not, our honeymoon was the first time we had been on this ride. I think about it now and it makes me laugh. How is that possible?

I don't know! We always used to walk passed it. I think it's all the excitement of finally getting to Epcot and just wanting to go to all the big rides. The same thing happened with Journey into Imagination with Figment. Now, I can't get enough of those rides. I could go on them over and over again.
So we traveled through time and saw our future, and it was lovely. It was time for our Test Track fast passes.
This would be Cory's first time seeing it after the remodel. I saw it when I went in June. I'm not really sure how I feel about it. I really liked the industrial feel it had before. And the way the track is set up, with the twists and turns and such, it makes sense that it's a vehicle test facility. I just think that changing the theme, but leaving the track the same seems a bit lazy. It's like they threw in the build-a-car portion to distract you from the fact that it's the exact same ride. Don't get me wrong, I love the ride. Was it necessary to revamp the whole thing? Probably not. Especially when there are issues with Expedition Everest. I mean, I love Betty the Disco Yeti as much as the next guy. But it would be nice if she swung at the riders the way the Imagineers intended.
We used our fastpasses and got to the room before the build-a-car, then there was an announcement over the loud speaker saying that there were technical difficulties. So we waited about 15 minutes before the line started moving again.
Before the magic bands, they used to give you a blank card to load your car onto, but now you can use the band. I thought that was pretty nifty. We made our car and made our way to the loading area. The ride was fun, per usual. I asked Cory what he thought of it. He wasn't blown away by the change, but he likes the ride.
Just want to throw this out there: If you like to buy your ride photos, I HIGHLY recommend the Attractions+ card. I would have never known it existed if Rob (DisneyKid4Life) hadn't mention it in his TR. It's totally worth it. It's $45 for the card and you can load as many ride photos as you can in a 14 day time frame. One digital download cost $15, so the card pays for itself after 3 pictures. I think it's a great way to have your ride photos without having to take a redneck photo.
So, from TestTrack we were headed back to the resort. We wanted to take a little break before Illuminations. But on the way out, we made a pit stop in Club Cool. How can you pass up free soda? I'm not a big soda drinker, but I like to try all the different flavors. Cory loves trying all the different sodas. Even Beverly.
A little side note: Cory and I are Trekkers. We like to say Beverly the way Captain Jean Luc Picard says Beverly, as in Beverly Crusher. We are nerdy, but it cracks me up.
We got to the room and relaxed a bit. In the past we would go, go, go the whole time we were there. This would really take a toll on my feet. We would be half way through our trip and my feet would be all beat up and I would be miserable. I wanted to sort of slow down on this trip. Give my feet a little rest. It was weird spending so much time in the room this trip, but it really helped.
After relaxing in the room for about an hour, we were on our way back to Epcot for dinner and Illuminations.
It's hard to pass through the lobby and not take pictures
We were back to this beautiful sight in no time.
We headed to the World Showcase to eat at La Cantina de San Angel. We love mexican food. I really wanted to try either La Hacienda or San Angel Inn, but we wanted something quick.
Pictures do not do this tree justice at night. It's so beautiful.
We got there and it was packed. We really wanted nachos, so we waited in line. Waiting for the food wasnt even the worst part. Trying to find a place to sit was a nightmare. That seating area is so small and everyone is scouting for a table next to the lagoon for Illuminations. We walked around a bit, hoping a table would open up. No luck. I contemplated going to find another table somewhere else in the World Showcase, but I really didn't want to be walking around with a tray of food. So, we just stood there and waited for a table to open. Finally, a nice couple told us they were leaving so we could grab their table before someone else does.
The nachos were delicious. I didnt want to take to much time eating because there were other people looking for a table. So, we ate as quickly as we could, without trying to be to rushed. When we finished, we went on over into the Mexico pavilion.
I really wanted to take Cory on the Grand Fiesta Tour. This is another ride that we have bypassed in the past. I rode it for the first time on my trip on June and thought it was really cute. I couldn't wait to show Cory.
He said he liked it. I really enjoyed it. As much as I love trill rides, I really love dark/boat/slow rides. They are such a huge part of Disney parks history and really sum up what Walt was trying to accomplish in building these parks. The whole family can go on them and enjoy them together.
There really is something magical about what the Imagineers can accomplish with the dark rides. You can go to the Caribbean, through a haunted mansion, under the sea and off to Neverland all in one day. It truly is amazing.
The time for Illuminations was quickly approaching, but I had one more piece of business to take care of. I needed me some school bread!!
I love this delectable little pastry! It is perfection. We got one and split it. And by split it I mean Cory got a bite and I ate the rest

. He got a viking coffee, which is coffee with coffee liquer and Bailey's. He liked it, but it was to strong for me. I'm not much of a coffee drinker anyways.
We finished up our snack and headed over to the lagoon to find a spot for Illuminations. I was really excited about it. We haven't seen it since our trip in 2009.
This was another one of those times I had to choose between video and pictures. I chose to video tape it, so, sadly, I do not have any pictures of it. I did take one picture of the torch though.
Now, I enjoy Illuminations, I really do. Is my favorite fireworks show? No. That would be Wishes. It is a great show, though. I forgot how loud it can be. Watching all the ducks in the water made me nervous. I'm surprised they stuck around for the show. I guess they must be used to the noise. Cory thinks the globe should rise up out of the water. So, Disney, get on that!
After the show was over, we fought the masses trying to get to the buses. It wasnt to bad since we were close to the entrance of the World Showcase.
On the way out, Cory and I had an interesting conversation. Now, I promise you that I am not this dumb. I don't remember exactly how we got on the topic, but I had mentioned something about Morocco being in Russia.
Cory: What?! Morocco is in Africa.
Me: No. It's in Russia
Cory: No, I'm pretty sure it's in Africa
Me: .........oooh, I'm thinking of Moscow!
Cory: Did you think Aladdin lived in Russia?
So all this time I was thinking that Morocco is in Russia! I don't know why, but it never really occurred to me that I was confusing the two. I guess to much Disney magic can scramble the brain.
A bus was waiting when we got there. We got to our room and passed out, but not before I took a picture of my purchases for the day.
I love my Figment shirt. I also bought some cute little crackers from the Japan pavilion with pandas and koalas on them. And a Figment pin and Hoop-Dee-Doo pin I bought the night before.
And with that, our second vacation day was over. Another great Epcot day in the books.
