TOTWL 4th of July

We would like to visit TOTWL the 4th of July for fireworks. We will be staying at AKV on our points so will we be admitted? Also, will it reach capacity and how early should we arrive to get a spot? Thanks

You will be allowed in as long as they aren't at capacity. No idea how early you should get there. I normally arrive an hour prior to fireworks. Gives time to have a couple of drinks and then walk out to view the show. I haven't been on the 4th though.

According to the DVC member website, July 3 and 4 are blackout dates for members who are not staying at BLT:

"Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with vacation points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2014 (blockout dates apply. Including but not limited to 12/30/13, 12/31/13, 7/3/14, and 7/4/14). Current operating hours are 6 p.m. to midnight."

What about a Bay Lake Tower owner staying on points at a different resort on the night of July 4? (we check into BLT on 7/5 for a week)

Being an owner would not gain you access to the lounge on the 4th, if you do not check in until the 5th.

It is blacked out to only BLT guests for the 3rd and 4th. It is also blacked out New year's eve as well. I booked a BLT instead of Beach Club specifically for this reason. We switch to beach club on the 5th.

When we were there last year, the extended fireworks they do on the 4th were on the July 5th also. Check the Disney site because you may be able to get there on the 5th.

In 2013, Disney did the 4th of July fireworks every day during that week as part of their Limited Time Magic promotion. I think they will go back to the typical schedule of 7/3 & 7/4 only this year.

We are traveling July 1st to the 10th. I had read (can't find where now) that the MK fireworks for July 4th will be from July 1st to July 7th. I can't seam to find that now, but when I do I'll post it. We plan to watch the 3rd from TOWL and we have fastpasses for the special 4th of july Illuminations at Epcot Scheduled.

Edit.....I just read that the 2014 schedule hasn't been released yet, but they were held the 1st through the 7th last year.

I incorrectly put 2014 in my post, it should have been 2013.

The Disney TA Calendar only shows the 3rd and 4th.
