I took this tour with my DD back in July 2013 while DH went fishing and we really enjoyed it. My DD was 11 y.o. at the time and although she was amongst the older group of kids, she certainly wasn't the oldest one there. We enjoyed our time at Potlatch Park visiting the carving shed, hearing stories and visiting the exhibits inside the store area and of course the kids got to paint a feather to be added to a totem later. They received a totem as a reminder of their visit and my DD was thrilled.
Our bus driver was very informative giving us a little insight into life in Alaska and pointed out some points of interest on route to/from Potlatch Park.
Now, I was looking forward to seeing the Lumberjack show as it isn't something we can see at home and I realised that it didn't always get the best reviews. However we were entertained and were impressed by the skills of the lumberjacks. Our DD got her photo taken with the lumberjacks at the end of the show and we spent some time in their gift shop, too.
Would I do it again? Probably not as we have "been there, done that" now but we both had a good time and were glad we experienced both places. The tour was well paced, the show is near the dock so we could easily walk back to the ship and we had plenty of time to spend in town afterwards too.
