Hi everyone! Hoping someone can lend a hand. I've been to WDW many, many times but have never "made the jump" to cruising! We are currently looking at the Wonder and are stuck between a Cat 5C (#6544) and a Cat 5B (7026). There is a $50 difference when all is said and done. Is the jump worth it? 6544 is pretty centrally located (as opposed to the more forward 7026). We have never sailed before (have I mentioned that? I might be a source of anxiety), and have a tendency to get motion sick, so we are trying to do our best to set ourselves up for success.

These boards, while AWESOME, open up so many more questions. Do I worry about seeing lifeboats? Are connecting rooms (to strangers) a deal breaker? Where are the kids' activities, will I be too far from them? Is there anything above or below each room that would be loud? Am I over-planning?

Any experience, tips, tricks or well-wishes are appreciated.

We have stayed in 6042 which is basically the same location on the Port side. We love the location and have stayed in the same room on both the Magic and Wonder. Few decks up to the pool, few decks down to restaurants and shops. The lifeboats tuck back in under the deck so they do not restrict your view at all. I would stick with 6544.

Deep breath. If you're worried about motion sickness, then #6544 would be a better location.

Why would you worry about seeing lifeboats? Every cruise ship has them, and they can't very well hide them inside the ship -- just in case they need them. If you're worried about them obstructing the view, that's not an issue.

We've never had a problem with our stateroom connecting to strangers. Just like in a hotel, the doors to both rooms have to be open before you see each other. If you're concerned about noise, we've heard more commotion in the halls than from the neighboring cabins.

The Wonder is small enough that you're never too far from the kids' activities, or anything else for that matter.

Yes, you are over planning. Keep reading the DIS boards and you'll learn way more than you need to know.

If you should happen to find the midship elevators too busy, you can walk forward or aft (whichever is closer to where you want to go) and take the elevator or stairs from there. While Disney seems to price the more forward cabins at a higher price, plenty of people prefer midship or even aft. Don't think you are making a wrong decision just because it costs less. You can use the link below to see where things are located on the ship in relation to your room:

You can read all you want to familiarize yourself, or just to keep busy while counting down the days, but the reality is, once you book there is so much less to do than for a WDW vacation. Enjoy your cruise!
