totally undisney like bug question

never seen these at wdw but they are driving me nuts at home...we have what i have heard called triangle or v or 3 corner flies..they are a little bigger than a house fly, have large wings so they look like a triangle and black spots on the wings. their claim to fame is they bite like rabid wolves and do not go away no matter how many times you swat at them....so the question is if anyone knows what i am rambling on about, do you know of a safe pesticide to use on me so i can at least venture into my garden without fear of bodily harm from them...or how i can cut down on them period...ie what attracts them, the garden is close to a large field and does have brush etc fairly close by. i can't find much about them online probably cause i don't know what the real name is...i don't think they are deer flies since the wings actually cover the whole body.

Sounds like a type of horse fly. I'll look it up when when I get a break in work.

ohhhh, those green headed deer flies have a bite that hits like a hammer.
