Hi!

My husband surprised me Christmas day by saying we are going to Disney Feb. 1-7. We've been twice and stayed at Yacht Club and the Fort Wilderness cabins. The DVC rentals caught my eye on Mousesavers so I need someone to explain the whole rental idea to me!

We have not booked our hotel yet, have our TA with reservations on hold but I just thought I would check DVC out before we book. My husband is always concerned about having some space to spread out when we go on vacation, especially with two girls 11 & 7, he likes to watch tv at night after they have gone to sleep.

What would it cost us to rent points for those six nights? All the DVC resorts look wonderful so I am sure we would love staying at any of them. If we could afford to do this I think it would turn out to be a great stay for all of us.

I will take any and all explanations you could offer me! We are quickly becoming Disney obsessed and maybe DVC is the way for us to go. Thank you! ;)

I would reccomend the Old Key West as they are the largest rooms and have the lowest cost.

For Feb 1-7 a One Bedroom unti would be 176 points

I could rent it for you at $10 per point and it would cost $1760 or $290 per night.

A studio would only be 88 points = $880 but would not allow you to have a separate room to spread out.

I have points available if you plan to go the DVC route. You could even stay a couple of days at DVC resort then move to any other non-DVC resort you want. I do think that you will be hooked if you try it out.
