Ok so we just changed our trip date because of them extending the dining plan, so we are now going Dec 20th through the 27th. I am lost as to how to figure out the dining plan and what are the best places to go to get the most bang for your buck. We got the quick service plan but upgraded it to the regular dining plan.

Since that is going to be a very busy week (one of the busiest of the year), I would first go over to easywdw.com and look at his Dec calendar and what he writes for each day you are there so you can determine which park you want to attempt each day. Knowing where you will be should make choosing where to eat a little easier. You're going to want to stay in the same park or at least close by. Don't forget MK will have early EMH almost every morning, so if you do a breakfast ADR, keep that in mind.

We do all of these every time we are in MK. I am going on free dining in Sept and have reservations at all of them. Hope this helps.

You can, yes. But you will have to call. The online system doesn't let you book reservations within 2 hours of each other.

Best bang for your buck (given that the Dining Plan is included in your package at no cost) is to eat at places with food you'll enjoy.
