My "workload" ? LOL! Do you even know what my job entails?

Not much apparently, since you have some much time to post. You have, in the past, complained about not getting anywhere in your job, no hope for advancement, blah blah blah. But you spend time posting here about what happens at your place of employment. If I was your supervisor, I think I would be spending some quality time with you trying to find you meaningful work that would keep you busy. I would also expect you to be looking for your own projects to do, showing some initiative, offering to help people that may be overworked. I don't know of any business where people with free time are not encouraged to help out. But maybe your company doesn't mind that you spend a good deal of your day on the board.

They don't, actually. In fact, my boss just emailed me something funny she found online and our dept is emailing back and forth funny pictures we found on various sites.

We are here for support when problems arise. The rest of the time, we sit around and wait for projects to come in. We can't just make up our own projects to do. We have to wait for the word from the dept. we support.

I'm terribly sorry if your job has strict internet rules. That must kind of suck, but my job does not.

I also explained more than once the reasons why I did not get a raise and that was because my boss was out on family leave, and did not appoint someone to do mid year reviews in my dept. which was why no one in my dept. got anything.

She is since back, and I have found out that I am in fact getting said raise once she puts together the stuff for "official" reviews.

Why I am even explaining this to you, is beyond me...

Why are you so mean? Lucky for her or any of us for that matter, you are not her supervisor.

Oh please! Lets not turn this into a bashing here! There are a lot of DISers who work and have time to post. Just like there are DISers like me, who are SAHM's and find time to post while doing their job.

I can't recall exactly what it is she does, but I know she works for a publishing company. She even said that yesterday she was done with her work early, and had nothing new to move onto yet. Now I don't know about where you work, but sometimes that does happen. My husband is an architect, and sometimes he has nothing to do. Nor can he just "invent" projects to keep him busy.

Mean? Most companies don't appreciate that their employees are spending comany time and money posting on non work related sites. Essies place of employment is different, they seem to encourage peole to play on the internet. Thus she is a perfect fit for her job and her job is a perfect fit for her. I come from a background of my employer expecting me to do what they pay me to do, and if I had as much spare time to post as she did, I would be on a performance improvement plan. And incase you are wondering, I have today off, our work computers don't allow us access to this site.

I wish I could sit around and wait for work to come in.

For expecting an employee to work? Heck, it looks like she has at least 80 posts just yesterday alone. And that's just on this board. Most employers don't allow their workers to spend all day posting pictures of their pets on the internet.

Well, it was too good to be true, a board with no arguments, discontent, name calling or finger pointing.

Nonetheless, I love it here, and EsmereldaX if your willing, I still would love to know your job entailing stuff...

BTW, that complaining guy seems to know an awful lot about you......

(I'm not gonna tell E-X to ignore him, 'cause reading many of her other posts, she is 1) Too secure for his comments to matter and 2) Does not need or require my support or approval either. Although she has both!)

Now if I could only make her a Rebuplican.....sigh

Tony

P.S. added after reading the post preceeding mine!

Alot of jealous, sad people complaining about her posting habits. For what its worth, in my case, I'm the boss and I'll do as I please.

And her Dog (Monte) is very cute too!

Bah humbug to the 'work habits police' - please keep us updated on the Milk Bandit. :p

No new word yet on the Milk Bandit, though I did overhear a few people saying that they are actually analyzing the handwriting on the note and comparing it to employee handwriting samples.

They are seriously planning to go after the *bleep you* note writer. Whether that person is actually the milk bandit remains to be seen.

Oh and mention of the milk bandit made it on to at least one departments weekly meeting minutes!

He or she is becoming notorious!

what does it matter in the context of this thread if E has time to post from work. Does it affect anyone else? Chill out people and let's get back to the original thread.

BTW, I am writing this from my desk at work. My productivity isn't going down because as we speak, my computer is multitasking and running programs in the background. I have about 8 minutes of idle time while it's running and I'm waiting for the results. Does that make me a bad employee? If it does, how is it I got a raise and a level upgrade mid year????

CHILL OUT!

Now that is just nasty. I am not the self appointed work police, I am amazed that someones work allows them so much time to post on a BB rather than work. But as I said, her job seems to not only allow it, but encourage it. I just thought that most placed were like mine, with a rule about no non business internet time. Sorry that I work at such a strict place, guess I better find a new, more laid back job.

Might I suggest that you get a better job. Perhaps instead of wasting your time here on this thread, and flamming our illustrious leader, you should be studying for a better career track, or working harder and becoming more productive, so you can get a raise and then sit around like all the rest of us. (LOL)

Let me say this slowly and clearly.... GET A LIFE!

Yeah, this is a little bit invasive. If you chase away people who will "us slackers" have to talk to? Now, were you thinking of all of us with this post or were you just trying to gratify some bizarre type of personal need. Think of the many as opposed to the few.;) We want to encourage as many posters as possible to stay here, and not scare them away, kay!

You can post more too. I would be interested in picking your brain. Unless of course you are a Brain surgeon, and have way more important things to do.;) Carry on....:sunny:

Esmerelda,

You can post these "cover up" posts all you want but you and I both know who REALLY took the milk don't we. ;) ;) ;)

No worries, your secret is safe with me.

Hessman, I wasnt originally going to respond to your post as everyone has pretty much pointed out that everyones workplaces are different. However, I must point out that
1. You seem to read Esmeraldas posts frequently to know what she posts about, and are posting during normal working hours.
and
2. You seemed to quote her but yet leaving out important points. Such as when she posted that she finishes her jobs effeciently and her boss had run out of things to give to her.

Maybe if you read more clearly it wouldnt be an issue for you.

JMHO

You all could have a job like mine where they do NOT encourage or like the fact that we surf during work time, but we do it anyways... :hyper:

We don't have "work police" here, nor do we want them here. We rather like doing nothing and getting away with it!

Now... WHERE is the update on the milk bandit?
