been back to hospital with ds today and was told that the big operation he had in May has not worked and the lining of his eye is starting to breakdown again which means he will need at least 3 more operations in the near future and that he now needs to go back on steriods again !!
He can however go back into school and after nearly 6 months off he is well happy about that !!! He also shows no signs of cancer at mo so its not all bad but the idea of more operations when the succes rate of this one was 99% or higher is just killing me - I cant see him put through anymore pain its just so unfair :sad1:

oh honey, i was hoping things were getting better as you hadnt pm ed me for a while.
children are very resiliant to pain, but that probably wont help, so sending you load s of these:flower3::flower3::wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard::hug::hug::hug:
take care

What a shame, it's not fair for him, but great news about there being no cancer.

Big hug from us to you all.

I have been waiting for this post and truly had everything crossed for you in the hope that the news would be good - and it is fantastic to hear that there are no signs of cancer. And I bet he is Buzzing now that he knows he can go back to school.

After reading your trip reports, and following some of your threads on here, it is clear to everyone that Cameron has THE best possible parents to help him through the difficult times ahead. I know that it may not feel like it at the moment but you will be strong for him, and at the times when you need some strength yourself then pop on here and we will all do that we can. :thumbsup2

Please tell Cameron that we are all routing for him - and with all that pixiedust: and  floating around hopefully some of it will make it to you.

Oh Louise I am so sorry to hear that, try to keep strong for Cameron & take comfort in the fact that he is cancer free....that needs celebrating!

As Kenny said he has the best mummy looking after him. Please feel free to vent on here whenever you need to, we are all hear to listen and send you our hugs & pixie dust when needed. :grouphug:

So sorry that the operation didn't work but as everyone has said he's cancer free and that's brilliant news. You certainly have a brave little boy. Will keep everything crossed for you that things start to get easier for you and your family.:flower3::grouphug:

Thanks - you made my eyes leak :sad1:
We have no choice and I dont think we are anything special there are hundreds of parents going through what we do and Im sure they handle it much the same but your vote of cofidence is nice to read!!!

The only thing keeping us going today is that there is no sign of cancer - kind of feeling that this could be worse !!!

Thanks for all the kind messages and hugs its nice to read so many people that feel for cameron and are urging him on too - it can so often feel like we are battling alone but all the replies on here show otherwise x

We started this journey 6 years ago and at that time we were told that the prognosis was a good one if we let them remove his eye - was even told if we did that it would be really good chance that we could spare him the ordeal of chemo !!
Since then we have had chemo - only 3% of children who have their eye removed recieve chemo !!
we have had operations on his eye so regulaurly we could not even begin to guess how many operations he has had !!
we have had a relaps and had to figt cancer again - virtually unheard of for the type of cancer he has and we have done the biggest operation that can be done and still scar tissue grows back and he needs more treatment the 3 words which I am starting to loathe are "Just bad Luck "
and guess what when i asked why the operation didnt work the reply was "just bad luck" Ive done 20 of these operations and all the other kids are doing fab !! Great thanks for that makes me feel really lucky !!!
We took them all to the cinema this afternoon to try to restore some normality round here and to hear them all belly chuckling reminded us that no matter what if we can make them smile life aint that bad !!
Thanks all for listening to my rant x x x

I'm so sorry it wasn't the best news you could hope for, but am so pleased he is cancer free. He sounds like a little trooper, you must be so proud of him. It sounds like he has a lot of love and support surrounding him at home.x:hug:
