I'm trying to come up with activities for DS to do this summer while he's not in school. Stuff that I can do with him that won't drive me crazy and will help him with the things he needs help with (coordination, writing, etc).
So..I've come up with an idea. A Lord of the Rings themed mini-camp.
Day 1--watch "The Hobbit" (animated), then discuss/draw pictures and write out hobbit/LOTR themed vocabulary words (list to be determined)
Day 2--Treasure hunt for a "Precious" and sword fighting lessons w/foam swords
Day 3--MOAR SWORDFIGHTS!, Bow and arrow lessons (with the kind of arrows with the little suction cup ends)
Day 4--Make "lembas bread" from graham crackers, peanut butter and marshmallow fluff
, nature lesson on identifying trees, insects, etc
Day 5--Watch "The Return of the King" (animated version), more drawing and vocab words
