Just getting ready to send in our payment! I was just wondering how you veteran DVC owners keep track of your banked/borrowed points. Is there a place on the DVC website that you can see all this info or do you formulate your own spreadsheet?

I book until I can’t book anymore, then I get more points and repeat the cycle. I usually just get ridiculously confused and end up asking people here what I should do… after I try to book something and it says I can’t…
Your entire booking history is stored online. There are places on the website that show you your points and deadlines… and there are helpful Disers ( @Sandisw) who know why you can’t book anymore…

When you log in to your dvc account the dashboard will you give you most of the information you need. If you want the details on your points you can go to my vacation points and it will give you all the details and transactions on each contract you have on that membership

Thanks ! Excited to start booking
Congratulations! If you have just one contract it's really easy and the dashboard, as someone mentioned, is sufficient information. If you end up getting several resorts and/or use years a spreadsheet might come in handy. I haven't got that fancy yet.

4 contracts, 2 use years - I use a spreadsheet with each contract on separate tabs and an overall tab that sums up points (allocated, uses, banked, borrowed, transferred) for each year. This allows me to plan ahead for future years and hopefully ensure that I don’t lose track of any points. Crossing my fingers….

If you're getting complicated with this, it's worth using a spreadsheet. The website is not as helpful as it could be with things like this.

I have multiple UYs and multiple contracts, and I've been able to balance this OK, but only because I only borrowed on one contract.

Shortly after we bought, we booked two trips and borrowed points, and I realized that I’d have trouble tracking, especially with a September UY (having to keep straight which UY a reservation was in). So I created a very simple spreadsheet which has served me well all these years. Of course, that was before we had the information now available on the member website.

I have also have a spreadsheet with three tabs - one for each contract. I have a row for each points transaction and a column for each use year. If I bank or borrow, I subtract it from one column and add to another. It might not be the best way to do it, but it works for me.

The website does have a transaction list; I find it complicated to read. One thing that maybe the updated website will have is an easier way to view the points that have been banked and borrowed. In other words, right now the summary only shows what is in the current use year, but it's challenging to know what year those points originated in, although it does tell you how many you have available to bank.

I’m a spreadsheet nerd so I have everything there. I know what stays I’m planning on booking and how many points they are. I factor in what I have banked from the previous year as well as what I have allotted for that year. Once a trip happens I highlight that trip so that I know those points are used up

I have 2750+ points over 18 contracts.

I just go onto the 'my vacation points' tab. When I book I tend to use the lowest cost ones, ie SSR and use by BLT, VGF and RVA ones for those stays 11 months out.
