I rarely START threads but I am just SO pleased and I am hoping some of you will share my joy with me!
Backtrack to the winter when we finally decided we would bite the bullet and book a cruise for our family of 8. Having to pay adult fare for the first two kids made it very obvious to us from the get-go that we were going to have to exercise limits in order to pull it off at all. (We are also do land portions before and after.)
Off the bat we realized we would be better off financially to book a classic ship over a new ship. We opted for inside cabins to again save money. So, in February we booked a 4-night cruise on the Magic for May 2014.
I was a little disappointed after watching the Trip Planning DVD where they really showcase the newer ships. The kids were so excited about what we saw and we had to let them know a time or two that we weren't going on a new ship.
WELL - we all know the news that came out for the Magic late April. That was a super-fun thing to hear.
An IRL friend who recently did a 7-night told me we wouldn't have pirate party OR fireworks because we were only doing 4 nights. I took it in stride, because I have been so excited about our vacation in general and knew there was plenty of other fantastic things to do on the ship.
Then, about two weeks ago I asked a question in a thread that let me know we WOULD (most likely) get a pirate night!
THEN, just last week, I learned we DO get fireworks.
AND TODAY I read our inside cabins actually DO have obstructed view portholes!
We get to see daylight and the weather!
WE HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN TO PORT and the "magical moments" are already happening!!!
We had selected the cabin we did based on the square footage, the split bathroom and the deck.
I'm just so stinking excited I had to share.
