I am sorry if someone posted about this already (I did try and search)...

Last night on our local news here in Los Angeles (same news for Anaheim) there was story of a woman who was "inappropriately grabbed" while riding TOT. The police have the picture from the ride (obtained from Disney) and are looking for the guy.

Now, I have been on this ride dozens of times and have never heard of such a thing, so I am not bringing this up to try and scare and people from TOT, or any amusement park ride for that matter. I just think it's important to find this creep. It is an unfortunate incident and I feel so badly for this woman.

Please take the time to Google the pic (they showed it on the news) to see if you might know the guy (they think he might be a local and I know a lot of locals are here on the DIS).

My husband would have been the one making headlines had anyone tried that with me.

Poor thing...I only wish she'd been more assertive and asked one of the guys on the ride to grab him before he could beat feet. Jerk.

How horrible! I hope they can catch him, but she should have tried to stop him right away and gotten help from others on the ride. BOO

That is unfortunate news. But where was her voice? Why did she not say something before the punk took off? Inquiring minds would like to know. I hope that does not happen again, to her or anyone else. I would have put him in his place. For example, grant it this was not at Dl. but all the same, about a year and a half ago, when I went to an In and Out, there were two men in their forties, staring at three very young women, not one was 18, by the looks of them. The one male especially was staring most inappropriately at the one young woman. I kept on watching his mouth, his expressions, it was disgusting. I had had it with his most inappropriate public behavior. I went to the young women, warned them about these middle age punks, asked politely of the one young ladies age, she was only 15. Just disgusting these men. all the while their bad behavior continues, so I went over to them, and told them what I thought. Two words statutory rape, then I said, I know what you are talking about, and it is disgusting. then he called me a b (Female dog in heat) and to mind my own business. Which I responded do not talk to me like that, especially not in public, who do you think you are. His hair ball friend just stared at me, the other punk was the one mouthing off to me. Then I kept an eye on them, his demeaning behavior continued, so I had the manager call the police, seriously I do not mess around with punks, if they don't listen to me, they will the police. So these punks at some point leave, in the meantime I was outside waiting for the officer, the punks got away, before the officer was able to have a talk with them. The girls were still inside, they seemed fine. The pukes disappeared into the night, like the social fungus that they are. I should have done a better job of keeping an eye on them. Oh well.... the important thing is I spoke up, the girls were fine, and the punks moved on. I waited a bit with the officer, then I left, first though I gave another look for them. Believe you me, an incident like this does not scare me, because when you go through a pile high of dooty in life, that is the only thing that can scare you life! Not middle age horny punks! That need a life, and a new hobby. Really!!

I can only imagine it must have been such a shock or that she didn't know what the response of the people around her would have been. That is a shame. I feel bad for her and I hope they catch the sicko.

That is unfortunate news. But where was her voice? Why did she not say something before the punk took off?

That is exactly what I was wondering. But then, it's easy for me to say that not being in that situation myself.....

^ I agree, the shock of it delayed her reactions, I'm guessing.

It's not like she stayed totally quiet. Would you want to announce to about 30 strangers you've been groped? Just thinking in the sense of how sexual/spousal abuse isn't reported as much as it should be.

What concerns me more is if the guy knew when the lights were going out, chances are he's ridden the ride before, and who knows how many times? Could he be an AP holder, and has DL gone through AP holders to see who was in the park that day? Also, I wonder if others have been groped and have kept quiet.

I'm sure that in retrospect she wishes she had said something immediately to get this guy detained; but she was probably in such a state of shock that she didn't think quickly enough. Besides, the story says she was with her daughter. I'm sure her first priority was to ensure her daughter's safety. I just hope they catch this punk.

And to Gisele -- Good for you!!! It takes just an occasional good citizen such as yourself to keep the vermin population in check. You go girl!

I am sure it must of been the shock. Who knows what someone would think in the mist of something like that happening. I am so glad they got a picture at the right time. I hope they catch the creep.

I'm wondering if Disney policy didn't lead to his escape also. The article states that she notified a CM after riding, and that they called security, but it took them 10 minutes to get there. I'm thinking the CM working the ride is not allowed to detain a guest? Also, CM's working the ride probably have no training in detaining and holding a guest, and for their safety have to wait for security.

After a person is assaulted like that, sometimes they are in such shock that they don't think through things clearly. I'm sure she thinks back now and says I should've done this and this and this. Hopefully, they find him.

Would you want to announce to about 30 strangers you've been groped?

Absolutely. The creep was probably counting on her keeping quiet out of sheer embarrassment. I would have made sure everyone knew exactly what had just happened.

Also...I can't be sure of this, but I suspect that he isn't all that familiar with the ride...otherwise he would have probably kept his hands to himself when the photo was snapped.

She alerted a CM as soon as she could. I think that was exactly the right thing to do.

From what I can tell it was just her and her daughter on the ride together. She had no way of knowing who else in that car was or was not with sleezy groper guy, or who would or would not have helped if she had asked. Plus there were children in the car; what if someone had tried to stop the guy, there was a scuffle, and a child (or anyone for that matter) got hurt?

It's awful that the CM reaction was not quick enough to catch the guy on the spot, but I'm sure folks working the ride and/or shops are instructed to wait for security.

Hopefully someone will recognize the jerk from the picture and turn him in. What a looser!

I don't mean to call into question her honesty, as I do believe that this happened as she claims. But out of curiosity, how could you prove something like this? If he denied doing it, on what grounds could he be detained and what kind of penalty would he face?

i am just disgusted with this. easy for us to say what we would have done. she was probably shocked and also wanted to protect her daughter. what a creep. hope they find him.

wonder if there is anything we can do to help? find him, i mean.

Amen to that!! DBF would not have let that guy away with that. BUT that's why he picked her, she was with her DD, there was no guy to intervene, he has likely done this many times before and the person involved was simply too shocked to do anything, or too embarrassed, or maybe didn't care.

Good question, I wonder what could be done?
