Okay, so if there were a hell, for me it would be eternity on the Tower or Terror. :jester:

For all of you who told me that it doesn't feel like that initial drop on a large rollercoaster, you were right, it's worse than the initial drop BUT ONLY OVER AND OVER AND OVER!!!!

He-he. I really didn't want to even do the ride, but DH, DS7 and DS9 grabbed a fastpass, so I thought I better grab one too--just in case. Well we are on our way over there, and DS9 decides he doesn't want to do it. As a mom of two competitive boys, I knew he would never forgive himself if the 7 year old went on and he didn't. So I told him I'd go on it if he did. And that we did. DH said he looked over at me during the ride and got a bit worried. I don't think I took a breathe until the ride was over LOL. The boys loved it, as "they couldn't feel themselves". Ooooookay.

Seriously, the story and effects are really well done. It truly is a unique ride.

LOL Barb!

I was in your position. I didn't want to try it. I didn't have kids as an excuse to get me on. Just my own sheer stupidity! :)

I'm glad I did try it though. I LOVE it! And even if you don't, now at least you can say you've done it. :)

Snacky loves it!? Simbanoodle's favorite?! I'm confused. Why??????????

Here is my new list of park favorites (the older I get, the whimpier I get):

MK - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (I still duck. Space Mountain lost out this year -- got a headache)

Epcot - Test Track (but my tummy can only handle it once per day)

MGM - Muppet 3D (brings a smile to my face)

AK - Festival of the Lion King (if that doesn't count then Tough to be a Bug)

And your's?

Barb,

My personal best ot ToT was 21 times in a four hour time period.

I just love the ride.:p

I don't think it's that bad. If you just relax your entire body you don't feel a thing.

Thank you Barb. You just summed it up for me. I knew I really didn't want to go on it;)

Dawn, you HAVE to go on it so that you can join the ToT Haters Club with me.

Nikki, all I can say is "uhhhhh right" ;) .

Simbanoodle, 21 times in 4 hours? Did you need surgery to move your organs back to where they are supposed to go?

LOL!!!!

All my organs were fine, although I did feel alittle beat up.

Barb, I have to agree w/ you. I couldn't wait for that ride to end. Everytime we came back up I was hoping it wouldn't drop again.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is my favorite overall ride. I wouldn't go on it alone. It's fun with someone else, especially if they haven't been themselves.

That said, I will go out on a limb here and say that I think it is, by far, the best themed attraction in all of WDW. The attention to detail is pure Disney and nothing was spared to accomplish this.

I can understand if someone didn't want to go all the time, but once should be a requirement for continued visitation rights to WDW. "Help I've fallen and it looks like I'm going to be falling again and again and again"

Pat yourself on the back, Barb! I always do the Tower of Terror once on each trip, and sit contentedly outside the gift shop at the exit while my kids ride it over and over again. That first drop is a killer, and the later ones are not any better. You should be proud to have survived(did you get the t-shirt?);) Did you try the Rockin'Rollercoaster, too? The first loop does me in for the rest of the day, so riding it first thing in the morning should fit well into my diet plans!

ToT is my favorite ride in WDW and RnRC is DH's. We like to bounce back and forth between them when MGM first opens until the lines get long and then we grab Fastpasses!

Seriously though, I'm glad you went on it once. Even if you're a person who doesn't, ummm, appreciate the fall portion, it's such an incredibly themed ride that I think everyone needs to do it at least once. Maybe your kids will convince that it wasn't really that bad and you'll do it again next time :).

I love ToT---its my favorite also. Wish I could ride it that many times, no way would my family ride it that many times or wait while I did. I think our next trip I may slip out alone and head over to MGM, lol.

Hey barb,I also would like to become a member of the TOT haters club. They could not pay me enough to go on it again!!!!

I guess I'm not a dropper.....lol:p

I'm with you, Barb.

The ride IS wonderfully themed; it's a hoot. I first rode it at its inception and got a kick out of the ONE drop...after the "sequences" were installed, I've become wayyyy less enthusiastic! ;)

Denise < --- swore she'll never ride it again: but goin' next month with my sister-in-law & her 9 grandchildren on their 1st WDW trip, and I just KNOW I'm gonna be sucked into riding this again... ;)

Who knows? Maybe riding the ToT is like giving birth -- you forget the pain after a while. Bwhaaaaaaaaaaa!

Really, I'm glad I did it. I did want to know what the sensation is like.

I didn't do RnR. We decided last minute to go to MGM, so we really didn't have a good touring plan. We were thinking of going to Universal, but DH still had one day on his hopper pass, so we only had to pay for myself and kids. Also, we got a late start and it was our last day. I read that MGM is smaller and took less time to do. Besides, I don't think the kids would have done RnR.

We are planning on going to MGM when we are there. I'm totally debating whether to ride the ToT or not. I really want to, but I have a feeling I'll get freaked out once I actually "see" the ride!

My question is, how many times does it drop you? Or does it vary.

Here's hoping that I work up the nerve

Oh dear Lisa. You should have ridden it before January! :)

They instituted a new drop sequence, whereby there ISN'T a drop sequence. It randomly determines how many times you're going to drop, and in what order. Not even a CM could tell you which sequence it's going to be. :)

I was in your position in September, when I went on it for the first time. If you really want to try it, then make sure that there's either no line, or get a fastpass. The longer you have to sit in line and think about, the more nerve you'll lose, and probably just walk RIGHT back out of the line. That's the problem with the new queues that can handle wheelchairs. They're big enough to walk right out if you decide you don't want to ride! hehehe

Also, when you're at MGM, don't think about whether or not you should do it. The MINUTE you walk through the entrance turnstile, just go get right in line, or get a fastpass.

The worst that could happen is you won't like it.

And Barb, I don't know if you've never done it, but if you've done the Tower of Terror, you can DEFINITELY handle the Rockin' Roller Coaster. Try it the next time you're there. The fact that you're in the dark, and going SO fast ( I believe it sustains speeds of close to 60 mph) make it a lot easier to handle than anything. There also are no steep drops, like most roller coasters.
