Does TOT have a chicken exit, someplace where I can somewhat discreetly exit just before the ride? I went on it once, and was really impressed with the detail in the pre-ride area, the TV, etc. However, the ride was definitely something I don't want to experience again (big chicken, here). I've never gone to an attraction, then chickened out at the last minute, so I have no idea but I think I read somewhere that you can experience the pre-ride without the ride here. Can you?

Yep there is a chicken exit right after you take the elevator up to where they load for the ride portion. You still get to go through the pre-show which I love. When they start dividing up for the ride portion just ask a CM for the chicken exit and they will direct you to it. :sunny:

There is a 'regular' elevator between the two 'ride' elevators that will take you to the exit/waiting area where the pictures are viewed. A CM will have to take you down. I'm not sure how discreet it is though. ;)

Forget about discreet, it is right between the ride elevators. But don't worry about it, nobody notices you, they are all too anxious waiting to ride! :hyper:

ToT is not my favorite ride, but my husband doesn't like to ride alone and my 10 yr old son will ride. But if I don't like something, lots of times he will back out (he's my bud). So last time, we got all the way through and were getting placed on the spots to be assigned seats. I asked if I could sneak out and was directed to another location where I waited for them to finish.

I always go through the line with DH, have ridden ToT twice but it's just not my thing. When we get to the CM that asks "how many?" I just say "one for the express, please." This always gets a little smile and is a discreet way to sneak out without everyone around immediately knowing what's going on -- not that I care, anyway.

I actually got the "express elevator" thing from a CM on the ride the first time I bailed, so they always know what I mean.

My son bailed out his first time trying ToT. I accompanied him out of the line.

When he saw that the 'chicken exit' was an elevator, he quite nearly freaked. The CM had to reassure him that the elevator WOULD NOT do any dropping!!
