ToT Chicken Exit?

I am not a hug fan of ToT, and was so happy when DGD didn't want to ride it, but now older and she loves it. Let me say, the one at DL I will not ride, ever, it scares the crap out of me. The one at WDW is so much tamer, I will do it. I have a limit, only once a day when in DHS, which DGD hates, but I will do it and it does not scare me. I just don't like that stomach in my throat feeling. Roller coasters don't give you that feeling. I go on ever ride but I will say this is my least favorite, but it is not that bad. You may try it once, just to see, in WDW it is not that bad.

You are MUCH braver than I!! Honestly, I hate drops, but if I knew where the drops would be I might be able to handle it. On a roller coaster, at least I can mentally prepare myself for what's coming (I do this on Splash too - one drop, I know where it is, I'm done!). But the randomness of the ToT drops and the speed - AAAHHHH!!!

And therein lies the appeal for the fans:thumbsup2

I love the ride, often will do a repeat (standby, then FP). Last trip w/5 y.o. GD, she begged to ride it repeatedly as it was 'dead' in the park

I had to use the chicken exit after the 4th time as I was starting to feel a bit green.:o

CMs saw I was ill. Joking demeanor immediately stopped, asked if i needed medical attention. I declined, just wanted a drink of water & to sit down. Family has yet to let me live that one down.

Be careful to get in the elevator that doesn't have seats.

My BFF got tricked by the CMs into riding the non-chicken exit elevator. She asked them why she had a seat with a seat belt on a regular elevator. They told her it was part of the theming, and the next thing she knew, she was dropping down the tower. She got so scared that she said her legs felt weak the rest of the day like they were made of jello.

Those CMs can be tricky. My brother has a goofy sense of sense and was joking around with them, so they put him in what is known as the "seatbelt seat." It is a single seat in the middle of the car that doesn't have any handles for you to hold onto.

I would think there would be serious repercussions for a CM doing that to a guest. God forbid they had a health condition. :sad2:

Same thing happened to me on RnRC. The CMs must've heard my daughter on standby line nervously asking every minute the same questions: what happens if i fall out, will you hold me tight, is it really dark, does it go really fast. Before the ride even stopped at the end, she was yelling i want to do that again!! So the kind CM threw her some pixie dust and asked if she would like to go through a 'magic door' and get right back on. And that happened about 3 more times. Time 5 my vertigo started to kick in and very nervous CMs came to my aide. Since then I'm 2 and done. Maybe 3, but we dont tell DH that. LOL.

I agree. She and I suspect that her husband and/or her sons put the CMs up to it, but they wouldn't admit it.

The only person a CM should listen to when it comes to whether they want to ride or not is the rider themselves.

LOL! The last time we tried to do RnRC, my DS and DH were the ones who chickened out! We all stood in line and when it was time to board, they decided not to go (this is the DS that wants to ride ToT!) and I decided to brave it and went by myself. Omg. My legs were shaking so badly at the end I could not wait to get out! BUT, I couldn't get my restraint off! I was yelling for a CM to PLEASE help me as I didn't want to get stuck on the ride and have to do it again. Finally a CM came over to help the crazy screaming lady (meaning me!) and they helped me off! HA!

It's funny. My DS did the same thing the first time he rode Space Mountain. DH and I HIGHLY encouraged him to go on knowing he would love it, but he was scared. We got on and the whole time I was thinking, this poor kid is probably terrified and I made a big mistake encouraging him to ride. The ride stops, we get off, DS turns around and yells, that was AWESOME!!! It was so cute!
