Is it me but doesnt the TOT seem out of place?????
I stayed at a hotel across the street from DL/DCA and it seemed to me that the TOT being built seems out of place in relationship to its size in relation to everything else around it, it just dwarfs everything else in the park and nothing is close to its size.
What are your thought about this???

It's a landmark attraction. It sticks out at DL just as it does at MGM. Anything shorter and there wouldn't be a drop worth having this attraction.

If you go to the new Bug's Land, you'll think it's definitely out of place. It looms over the land like a giant. There's no part of the new area from which you can't see it.

That said, I don't know where I'd build it otherwise. Also, is it that much taller than the Wheel or the Maliboomer?

Buck is right...

Plus im sure they will built it up like in MGM. They will have tall trees and so on to make it look a little smaller and blend it in.

From seeing TOT from outside the park i think it looks very much out of place in relationship to everything else in the park as nothing else is much noticeable from outside of the park on Harbor St and it was very visible from my hotel room across the street.
An aside i thought the mailboomer was one of the weakest drop rides i have ever been on!!! And the shielding was also IMHO a waste and a negative for the ride. And lastly Screamin was also a very lame coaster and not even as good as Space Mountain. If they would get rid of the over the shoulder restraints at least the ride would offer some air time at the end of the ride.

Bob O,
I don't think they can get rid of the shoulder restraints on screamin with the loops and all. Personally I love the ride, but I do agree with you on the mailboomer.
space must no dout be limited at DCA thats probably why that site location was choosen for TOT.

MM- On other inverted coasters i have been on Son Of Beast/Flight of fear at Paramount parks and also Joker's Jinx/Mr Freeze at Six Flag parks that have removed the over the should restraints and go with just lap bar and all but one of these coasters have mutiple inversions. So it can be done and hasnt resulted in any injuries on the rides noted due to the change.
I can see why they put TOT where they did but it would look better if something else in the area was at least somewhat similiar in scope IMHO. But maybe it will look better once finished.

Really Bob, where do you expect them to put ToT that wouldn't stick out. It has to be that tall. I think it will look awesome when it is finished at it will give the park another attraction to make it worth it to cross the walkway.

I disagree out the coaster not being fun as well. I think that is about as good as you are going to get from Disney. Frankly I'm surprised Disney put in something that thrilling at all. I enjoyed it for what it was and we got plently of air time.
