Disney has posted the new details of the race. No reg yet but we get tech shirts:banana: Bad news is it won't start until 10:00(just like last year :rolleyes1 ). For us slower people who will take over 2 hrs, it means only 30 min of "partying" at DHS:sad2:

We invite you if you dare to join us on October 25, 2008 for a running event that lies beyond the fifth dimension, beyond the deepest darkest corner of the imagination. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K was the first night race in the Endurance Series at WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort.

The details:

Registration will be opening soon for the 2008 event.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K
Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10:00p.m.
Disney's Hollywood Studios™

Each participant who dares to take on the challenge of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K will receive:

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K Champion® Tech Shirt
Personalized glow in the dark bib
One of a kind The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ 13K Finisher Medal (with moving elevator!)
Hydration stations with PowerAde and water
Athlete refreshments at the Finish Line
Exclusive access to the Post-race Party at Disney's Hollywood Studios™

Yes but us slow pokes will have beer and coolers at the Boardwalk Villa's pool after the park closes. So anyone walking back to the Epcot area resorts is invited for a nitecap before bed.

Tech shirt is cool, we have the cotton shirt from last year. I like different shirts each year.

Erica and I are in for some night time walking fun with our WISH friends.

Hey I think we are staying at BWV for that trip you all better be quiet ot I will have to join you LOL

Tech Shirt KEWL!!!!

The bibs are also KEWL, Wonder if the Medal will change, or just from the 6.5K on it?

I am so looking forward to this one! Evening walk with new WISH friends and new bling! Plus being at WDW during F&W. :thumbsup2

Hearing last year traffic was a mess so thinking about parking at BW (we're staying at FW) and walking over. We're DVC so never have any trouble parking at DVC resorts. So what time does the post-party party start dear Panda?

Well Scott I will have some hard Lemonade and Vodka Coolers, so come on down and tip a bottle with us.

A new medal would be nice to, but the Tech shirt is a wonderful idea. A night race, good beer and pretty princesses all around, yep life is very good.

I just saw that the race started at 10pm and was pretty bummed because it means practically no time to party again this year! Then I remembered the best party will be at BW, so I'm OK with everything now. My only concern is getting a DVC reservation at either BW or BCV since it is not my home resort and I need to wait for the 7-month window. They had a great rate for AKL during the Expedition Everest Challnege so I'm hoping they may also have something like that for one of the Epcot hotels during the TofT this year.

BTW, we won't have a car and it is difficult to bring party beverages on an airplane, but John and I would love to make a contribution to the cause.

After the park closes we walk down and get the cooler out of the room and bring it down to the small pool at the BWV, then who ever wants to stop for a drink after the race is welcome. They charge $7 a beer at the park beer stations that are set up and it has to be cash, ours is cheaper, costs a hug and a little race recapping.

We are looking forward to this race, and are waiting for registration to open. We have started a reservation at BWV, but did not have enough points there to finish it, so we are also waiting for the 7 month window to finish off the reservation. Hopefully we will be able to stay there for the entire trip. We did not take much advantage of the party at the studios last year, we just hung out with friends, so I do not think it will make much difference to us that we will have less time there. We will look forward to the after party!

Jeanne dear, John, Robert, Scott and I are all bringing a pretty princess to the party, what better contribution could there possibly be. Relaxing after a fun race, a cold drink and a princess to talk to, it just doesn't get better than that.

Everyone is welcome to stop by after the race. The BWV is the first hotel you come to when you walk from the park. The pool is the first pool you come to.

WISH it were so but if DH has his way, it will be January of 2010 before you see my bright shining face again. Goofy here I come!!

Of course, if they replace Minnie with something really cool and it is the inagural race............

Party Panda--Sounds like the medal will be same as last year (with the moving elevator). Is the consensus that the park will close around 12:30am for the party? That may not even give me enough time to finish. :confused3 Any chance we can push for the 18 minute per mile time limit again. (It will be late and my body is used to doing other things at 10:00 PM (:happytv: :surfweb: :drinking1 ), none of which include starting an 8 mile jaunt.

At least it sounds like there may be characters at the BWVs, even if they are not Disney characters.

The party went until 1:00 am. By the time you finish, get med attention, water, and cool down. It was 12:30. Enough time to chat with friends on the way out of the park. The band was long gone.

Bill: I expect them to change the time limit to 15:00 min pace(2 hrs) so everyone is done by 12:00am and can have an hour at least to party. I think the long pace was for the 6.5K's benefit. Mark my words.

If there's anything we can contribute to the party let us know. We're driving the RV down this time so can easily bring along beverages.

I know it is late and all yet I WISH they would make this event pace a little slower. Just so that other ability levels could play. It would be nice to entice others out to try things.

Looks like we may be in The World around then only not sure if we'll play the event or not--he needs a slower pace. We'll be coming off a cruise. Ted figured he'd book a cruise to reinvest our tax bonus back into the economy. The good citizens we are.

Cool.

I would like a nice single malt scotch (Glenlivet 18 year will do, but will take 12 or 15 year if in a pinch), Tanguary with tonic water (need the quinine as if its as humid as last year (plus the rain) I want to protect myself from malaria) and a couple packs of Guiness draft cans (w/the CO2 capsules). That should cover me. Thanks. ;)

Sure if you want to bring a case of your favorite beer to share that would be fun. I will bring a case of Miller Lite, and a case of mixed vodka coolers and hard lemonade. Then usually a few 6s of specialty beers. We are just limited to space in the car.

We drive also and a case of beer is about the same price as 2 cups of beer at Disney.

Bill and Robert have they said for sure what the pace will be? Robert what was our time/pace last year, I never even looked since I look as races like that as a moving party so I don't care about time. We had the pleasure of walking with lots of WISHers.

Party Panda:hippie:

Sounds like a good plan to me. Can not wait.
