Does any DISers have a toshiba notebook.

I tell you why, i bought one about 3/4 weeks ago now, and we are experience a annoying problem, and wondered if it is a common thing, the computer freezes when typing to the extend i have to close the computer down (ctrl+alt+del) to start it up again.

Does anyone know is it a common thing

It definately shouldn't freeze like that. Is there any common factor that the "freeze" takes place? Have you installed any new software? When did the "freeze" start taking place? Did you do anything that could be considered a "change" at this time - where it work fine beforehand but not now?

If its only 3/4 weeks old and it has only the same software as what it was supplied with, I would take it back to where you bought it from and get them to sort it.

Only seems to freeze whilst writting threads on the disboards.

Not installed anything, apart from the norton supplied. I tend not to download anything i tend to think too many risks.

Hiya, Something that maybe worth trying is to check that you have a virus checker and some spyware removal tools, some laptops only have a trial of virus software when purchased. If you have id update them and run full scans

i can give you some links to download some free software that maybe worth trying first.

If you PM me i will send you the links over

Rgds
Chas

We found Norton was such a drain on resources that we had to take it off our home PC!

Now use a free virus program - called AVG and computer is loads faster :)
