On AllEars I see that this CS restaurant is opened seasonally. Can anyone confirm "WHEN" it has been open (i.e. specific months)? I'm thinking we would like to try it in October, unless it's like the Tomorrowland Noodle Station.......:rotfl:

Any opinions or suggestions on the food?

TIA!:flower3:

Won't be open in October. Christmas, Thanksgiving week, July-mid August, Spring Break/Easter, Presidents Week. That's about it for when seasonal restaurants are open. Some are even less frequent than that.

Not sure when it is open, but it is never open when we go for Halloween and the 1st week in November!

Want to try it so bad too, but that is when we always go!

It's been open and I've eaten at it on every trip I've taken to WDW,--14 or 15 now.

I'm usually there in July, Aug, but also May a couple times and October once.
So there you go.
People claim it is never open, but it does open. It closes early on days it is open, maybe between 4:30-7 or 8 depending. So you may walk by it on your way to Splash Mtn and think you'll eat there later, and it is closed later.
Personally, I think many hurry by it without even noticing it is there until later in the evening.

The food is not great, but comparable to the other selections in the area. I like some fire in my salsa, so it is way too bland for me. But it is fine, and cheaper than alot of other options. Last time I ate there was last Aug 21-31 (Don't know exact date). So that was before the name change. I don't know if anything changed beside the name.

We ate there at the end of February in 2010 - before the name change. The taco salads were really good.

It was open when we were there on May 17th. We had lunch there around 11:30 or so.

Had a very soggy lunch there today. Well we were soggy from the rain ;)

I preferred the old menu that included tacos. The burrito was just a tough tortilla folded over and the shells on our taco salads were stale. DD3's quesadilla was tough and cold by the time dh got back to our table (which was a conquest to find at 11:30). DS7 had the nachos and they seemed to be the freshest of the entrees.

I miss the Pirate & Parrot.

I have been in October several times (and going this October!) and its never been open. I've only seen it open during busy times (April vacation, May, June, July). It's too bad - I took DH there for the first time on July 4th last year and he loved it. I think he had more toppings on his burrito than he had burrito. :rotfl: He was just asking me the other day if it would be open when we go back. Oh well - we'll just have to eat in Mexico at Epcot.

I have read comments on other sites from cast members that say that WDW uses the same CMs for Tortuga Tavern and Tomorrowland Terrace. That means that when TT is open for lunch, the Terrace is open for dinner. So... just about never. ;)

I'm mourning the Noodle Station part of the Terrace. That tofu noodle bowl was one of the best counter-service veggie options I've had at WDW. (fresh ginger and basil!) I'm sure Tortuga Tavern is yummy, too! What a shame it's not open more often!

We ate there in March but it was closing at 3pm. We just barely made it!! Had the Taco salad, good and beef nachos also good! Maybe it is open more than we think because of the limited hours and we don't get there in time! Just a thought. I don't know?!

When you go into MK, the little flyer with the schedules of parades and such will tell you the hours that it is open. Even during the busy times the hours are short, sometimes only 11 a.m. to 2:30 or 3. Still remains one of our favs, have to get a taco salad each trip! Just check early so you won't be disapointed!

It's actually open for about 2/3 of the year; however, it's only open for lunch. Most days that's 11-3, sometimes when it's busier it's open til 4.

Calling Lamont Cranston
ONLY you can help.

(Also tell us where Tom Morrow went.)

Ok - I'll bite....who's Lamont Cranston?

We ate there at the end of February in 2010 - before the name change. The taco salads were really good.

The Taco Salad is the reason I wanted to try this place.:thumbsup2

Bummer - No tacos on the menu anymore? That would have been my kids first choice. Oh well - doesn't sound like it will be open in October anyhow....

Thanks all!

According to a tweet by TouringPlans, Tortuga Tavern will be open for lunch until 3pm today and for the rest of the summer.
