Wondering about which is faster - bus or monorail? It's hard to get a sense of times without having done it before.

Assuming I wanted to get from the Poly to the AKL (Boma) for a dinner ADR, which would be the best choice:

  1. Walk to TTC, take monorail to Epcot, then bus from Epcot to AKL.
  2. Bus from Poly to AK, then bus from AK to AKL.
  3. Resort Monorail to MK, then bus from MK to AKL.

My guess is "1", but let's hear from people who have done it.

Best way - cab.

Of the free choices, I'd either take the Monorail or Boat to MK and get the AKL bus from there. It is just going to be luck though with how long you have to wait for the bus or the boat. That wait time will be the biggest variable in how long it takes you to get there.

When we stayed at the Poly, we used the MK as our hub to other resorts and it worked great for us.
I'd take the monorrail over to the MK and take a bus to the AKL from there. You can take the boat over to the MK as well, I'd just give yourself a little more travel time. We found taking the monorail was the fastest way to get to the MK

I'm a little confused. Isn't MK in the opposite direction from AKL?

Yes it is. But its not a significantly long "detour" in this WDW journey.

Plus it would probably take longer to walk to the TTC and get to Epcot via monorail than it would take to get to the MK. The actual bus ride to AKL would only have a few minutes difference in time.

The walk from the monorail to the bus at Epcot is almost the whole length of Future World. I think the bus stops are between the Land and Imagination Pavilions. Then the bus timing, etc.

For sure, I would say boat or monorail to MK, then bus to AKL. Most direct, less walking, less delay possibility.

#1: Take a cab.

#2: Get to MK then bus to AKL. Very quick ride from Poly to MK, then wait for a bus at AKL bus stop, ride the bus.

Going all the way to Epcot to wait for a bus doesn't make sense, as others have said. Way too much travel time.

As we found out on our last visit to WDW, never assume the"monorail" will be working...we had budgeted about an hour and 15 minutes to complete the "excursion"

we were going to Boardwalk from Villas at Wilderness Lodge, thot the boat, monorail to TTC and monorail to Epcot with walk to the boat at International Gateway to get to Boardwalk was a safe bet....

we got to the TTC via the Express Monorail, only to find out the Epcot monorail was DOWN....only choice to get to Epcot were buses...

Luckily they also had a bus to Hollywood Studios from TTC, thus we took that one and then the boat from Hollywood Studios to Swan Dolphin and then walked to Boardwalk from there....

we have learned, always have a plan B just in case "glitches" in the transportaion system interfere with your best laid plans....
