Is this a place many would recommend? Is it easy to eat here for dinner around 5 ish and walk back to the parks? Do they take reservations? I have a $30 dollar certificate that Simply Patina sent for my birthday and it has this place on it.

Thanks once again for all the help !!!

For that certificate, you have to make a reservation (used the same certificate in April and called to verify that I needed to make a reservation)

We enjoy it! I especially LOVE their guacamole cart. Could just eat that as a meal.

Yes I would recommend it. I really like it there and we usually eat there once during our annual trip. We find it very easy to eat a meal there then return to the parks. We haven't had anything we didn't like.

When we ate there on my wife's birthday certificate, our meal for two adults came out to $1.25. I must admit, it's the cheapest meal that I have ever had at the Disneyland Resort, even counting the tip (I think we left a $5 bill).

And yes, you need to make reservations for the birthday certificate, either email dine@disneyland.com or call (714) 781-DINE.

I adore Mexican but I do not recommend TJ's. Unfortunately it seems to be me negative after effects, I do not appreciate having to spend extra time in the bathroom the 2 days after eating there. I even thought it was a fluke and ate there again, but nope, happened the second time too, and it happens to DBF as well.

I'm not a fan either. I had ate there previously and found it to be so so, but the last time i went, which was in December, not only was the food not great, the service was even worse! I won't be rushing to eat there next trip.

We used our patina coupon this week at Naples for pizza. The pizza was good (we prefer thick crust and this place is thin crust but still good). The bread they give you is terrible but the pizza was good. Best part was we went at 5 or 5:30 and got seated immediately with no reservation at all. Ended up paying 2 bucks for a large pizza.

So the coupon they send is targeted to only one of their establishments? Or can it be used at any of the three? I signed up and will get one at the end of June for our July trip.

Does the "favorite restaurant" selection you make when signing up influence the coupon at all?

I think there are 4 resteraunts you can use it at in DTD. When I signed up I put Tortilla joes as my choice but the coupon came as a generic use at any patina group resteraunt coupon. I printed it before we left and then DW and I looked at the menus on allears before deciding we wanted pizza instead of Mexican.

I've eaten there, once with the coupon, and I enjoyed it. Their guacamole (as was said earlier) was really good. I had the chicken enchiladas suizas and they were very good.

I'm used to eating more spicy Mexican food, but I thought the food there was flavorful.

Thanks for all the input. We are located in west Texas near the Mexico border so we are used to spicy favorable dishes.. I did make a reservation for a 5pm dinner on June 12th but that was before I started looking at the other restaurants.

Decisions Decisions !!! :headache:

Let us know how you like it. We should be gettinga coupon for our son's bday to use on our trip. I think it will be for $50. :thumbsup2

We love love love it there and eat there every time we go! We call their chips crack chips they are so good!!!

DH and I tried TJ's for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and we really enjoyed it. The portions are LARGE, though, so if you don't have big appetites, consider sharing! The guacamole cart looked fantastic, although I can't eat avocado so we had to skip it. The service was also great. We enjoyed it so much that we plan to take the kids on our upcoming trip. :thumbsup2

We ate there last year on our DL trip and are planning eating there again this year. Food was very good and fresh!:thumbsup2

So would everyone agree its pretty generic Mexican food or are there some unique dishes?

We love Tortilla Jos. We generally eat there once a trip. When we used my birthday certificate last Sept, I didn't make a reservation and they accepted it.

I am a bit of a snob when it comes to Mexican food and did not at all enjoy my first visit. To me the food was pretty bland.

Second time around I went because DH wanted to try it. He is NOT a food snob but also does NOT like spicy food. We requested his food perpared so a 3 yr old could eat it AKA not spicy, mine to be prepared so steam would come out my ears.

The waitress laughed and said "I think I've got it." The food was wonderful that time. The guy who prepared it even came out and asked if it was okay. I was impressed.
