Any opinions or info on these tours? Are they worth taking the time to do or a waste? About how long does it take and are they both things you just walk through at your own pace or what?

Thanks!

No great loss of time. Maybe 5 minutes. Go for it.

They are pretty informal- the Mission Tortilla takes about 2 mins for an intro speech and then they open the doors into the area where they make them. You get a sample as you pass through. The whole process is quite quick.
The Boudin Bakery lasts a bit longer - maybe 10 mins or so. They have a series of TV's with Rosie O'Donnell speaking about the history of the bread making. It is sort of interesting. They give you a sample as you enter the tour.

We ALWAYS do the Mission Tortilla one as it is very quick and the tortillas are a treat. I think once through the Boudin one is enough.

I just make a few figure-8's between the two entrances and exits for a light snack. Nothing too interesting other than perhaps trying to guess where the different breads might be headed withing the resort. You can do either of these at your own pace (meaning you don't necessarily have to watch the spiel).

My 4YO daughter LOVES the bakery tour. That and the animation building are her 'must sees' when we are at DLR (which is alot). Mommy loves the corn chowder at the restaurant next to the bakery, so it works for me :D -- The tortilla tour is less interesting, but you get a nice warm tortilla out of the deals!

The flour tortillas are much better than the corn tortillas, in my opinion, so we always look through the window of the tortilla factory and look to see which machine is working. Actually, we're so good at it now, we can SMELL the difference!

The Tortilla Factory is fast and easy - is it at your own pace - so you can take as long or as quick as you want. And as strange as it is, I agree with Roy, the flour tortillas are much better and I have only seen the corn going once, the day after they were having trouble with the flour tortillas burning on the bottom.

The Bread Factory, takes a bit more time, because they herd everyone in a room for an intro video. And then they have several video screen that explain the making of the bread. However, once the big door opens into the factory, you can keep walking and exit. We do this, because we really only want the sample. :)

This is probably a stupid question but we have never been to DL before - where are these tours? I don't remember reading anything about them but they sound like something we might want to check out.
