Not something you hear about very often (if ever). :scared1:

I hope everyone is safe. There are more storms coming.

There have been several confirmed tornadoes, and another supercell just popped up over Springfield.

It staying south of us so far, but I know people in the Worcester area that are currently in their basement getting hit hard.

Just confirmed ANOTHER tornado on the ground in Westfield/Springfield area.

Very nasty weather out there. I hope any DISers out there are staying safe!!

I'm in the Worcester area and we had a good thunderstorm come through, but that is all as far as I know.

Keeping an eye on it here in Plymouth. Looks like we are only going to get a thunderstorm here.

we're about an hour east of springfield. We've had the news on since we got home at 6. There have been confirmed tornados that have touched down in a few other towns as well, including Westfield, Monson, Sturbridge, and Oxford, as well as Springfeld. Very scary, as we don't normally get this weather very often. Thinking of all of those affected, and hoping everyone is safe!

There is a nasty looking cell now that might be bearing down on us this time :(

More funnels in Sturbridge...

My parents live in Westfield, my brother works in Springfield, my niece lives in Worcester. Thankfully, everyone is fine. Very scary!

I live north of Springfield and work south of Springfield in CT. Driving through Springfield on 91 ( the highway) it was awful to see the damage. Kind of freaking out...not gonna lie.

I just heard from my dear BF and she was leaving the Wilbraham Y when she looked up and saw the tornado. She ran back inside yelling for everyone to get into the interior of the building. As soon as they got in the hallway all of the lights went out. She said to me "why don't people remember what they learned in tornado drills?" I said "honey, we don't get tornadoes around here. You grew up on Ohio!"

Her nephew was in downtown Springfield when the tornado hit and texted his mom that a tornado had just hit. She did not believe him.

They finally got home and have spent the night going back and forth to the basement.

Hoping everyone remains safe.

Very scary. We are just south in RI and have been on edge.

My cousin lives in Uxbridge and works in Worcester. I tried calling him but only got his voice mail. Hoping he is OK.

The sky was the strangest color a little while ago...but, we wound up with just another t-storm thankfully!
Lots of people have no power, which might explain the no power. It is so scary though! We're not used to this!

This weather lately is really scary. Glad everyone's alright....stay safe, DIS-ers!

MEMA is reporting 4 confirmed deaths already.

There was a strong cell headed straight for us, but it really started to break apart just west of us and was downgraded to severe thunderstorm. Starting to die down and time to send the kids to bed.

This is crazy we have been in our basement twice tonight. Crazy hubby is upset though the cut out the stanly cup for a briefing

Jeff I was coming over here to see if you had posted. I didn't know how close to the storms you were.

Hope you and Val are still safe. :lovestruc

It just barley missed us today as we are slightly North of Monson, MA. We have many friends who have damage and power outages. We were in Boston for the day but our usual one hour drive took three and a half to get home. Sending prayers for those who have lost their homes and suffer from today's catastrophe in Springfield, Monson, Sturbridge, Brimfield & Westfield MA.

Is was SCARY! I work in Holyoke which is about 10 minutes from Springfield. I think I was more scared about not being with my daughter than anything else. By the time I got to Easthampton at 515pm, Springfield, West Sprigfield and Westfield had all hit. I felt like I was beating the storm to pick up Victoria. I was looking all over for black clouds. By 8pm I was on my way to Big Y in Southampton (left Victoria with my mum 7 minutes up the road) and I texted James saying we were about to be hit. It was completely BLACK and trees were close to being uprooted, it was a TORRENTIAL downpour. Hail was the size of golf balls... I left Big Y without getting HALF of what I came for, checked out (saving 60% of my bill :woohoo:) and ran to the car with my bags...again beating the store. I could barely see driving home and a couple trees were down. It was SO incredibly scary.
One of my friends apartment in westfield was hit...she was home with her almost two year old...
